This was the year in which hundreds of thousands of women decided to choose their design for their engagement ring, not being limited to the traditional offerings of stores. Color centers were hot, including color gemstones and color diamonds. What is one bridal trend you'd happily say goodbye to? We are happy to say goodbye to the sea of sameness that has permeated bridal jewelry design for decades. Today's woman is asserting her right to have a say in the selection of the ring she will wear most of her life and wants to prove that she is different from her grandmother. And what are brides asking for in 2014? Brides are asking for the Chocolate Wedding® specifically. They are buying Chocolate Diamond and Strawberry Gold creations that are differentiated. Describe your signature look. The look of Le Vian is about luxury, effortless beauty. Le Vian jewelry is gem intensive, detailed designs that are innovative. Le Vian is the master of combining the colors of the gold, gems and diamonds to create an unforgettable effect. Do you have anything new planned for your bridal collection this year? The center stones in Le Vian Bridal designs will be branded in 2014. All stones will be laser engraved as LE VIAN CHOCOLATE DIAMONDS® or LE VIAN VANILLA DIAMONDS® and inscribed on the girdle with their certificate numbers for identification and trade up purposes. What is exciting in the year ahead for bridal jewelry? Le Vian's Accidental Bridal and Chocolate Wedding trends are leading young designers to seek out new ways to differentiate bridal trends. You will see designers using combinations of pink and white gold and combi- nations of color diamonds and white diamonds to create new bridal effects. Designers who get the courage to step out of the box of the traditional halo designs and explore original design ideas will be rewarded by the millennial consumers who are trying to define their generations uniqueness as they get married. What was the hottest trend in bridal jewelry in 2013? I think the use of more unique raw material was hot. And what are brides asking for in 2014? Brides, in my opinion, want the same thing - to feel special, unique, loved, timeless and excited. The ring should offer that symbol. Describe your signature look. Raw Elegance - Refined and elegant, but industrial and organic. Architec- ture is common in my design philosophy when I try to share the emotion evoked by the piece.
