What design trends do you anticipate in 2014?
I anticipate a lot of unique Todd Reed in the cases. Use of alternative
materials will be hot.
Are you working on any special projects or collaborations this year?
I am collaborating with Harvey Hine Architecture, an art project for
the Denver Art Museum fundraiser; and architect Michael Moore of
Tres Birds for a new flagship experience in Venice, CA.
How about larger trends within the industry?
I am not sure about the whole industry, but I'm hoping the economy is
favoring Todd Reed.
Will you be adding or omitting any trade shows to your normal routine this year?
Yes. We added the Global Design show this year. We are very excited
about it.
If you weren't designing jewelry, what would you be doing?
I could likely make and design small or large projects.
What was the hottest trend in bridal jewelry in 2013?
HALO, again!
What is one bridal trend you'd happily say goodbye to?
I wouldn't want to put down any trend that a bride desires. It's nice to
have lots of choices.
And what are brides asking for in 2014?
More brides are beginning to realize the value and beauty of platinum.
Describe your signature look.
A classic, meticulously crafted heirloom quality design.
Do you have anything new planned for your bridal collection this year?
We are making heavier weight engagement rings in platinum and gold to
hold larger center stones.
What is exciting in the year ahead for bridal jewelry?
As I love platinum, I am excited to see more brides choosing platinum.
