Alpha Iota Enjoys Successful Homecoming
Chapter Looks to Improve Cathouse through Annual Campaign
G
ood times, Brothers! Homecoming was enjoyable for the returning
alumni as the undergraduates planned several events celebrating 80
years of the Alpha Iota Chapter at Missouri S&T. The actives and alumni
enjoyed a barbecue, a wine tour in St. James, dinner at a local restaurant,
and the annual outhouse burning. We appreciate the increased number of
returning alumni and look forward to seeing more brothers in years to come.
Annual Campaign Contributions
Strengthen Chapter
Thank you, alumni, for your continued financial support following the
launch of our annual fundraising campaign. Your contributions have
allowed us to set aside $15,000 toward a fund dedicated to improve the
11th Street Cathouse property. The undergraduates and your AIBA board
have not yet set a vision on what to do with this property, as the house has
deteriorated significantly. However, we have released a surveying company
to provide property information which will be used to begin development
of an overall framework
plan for improvement of
all the properties. With
additional fraternities on
campus planning projects,
it is incumbent on us
to provide housing that
is safe and attractive to
future Sigma Pi brothers.
Members of the AIBA for Alpha Iota, John
Flake '92, Jeff Aubuchon '98, Jeff Foerste '96,
Dave Farnam '92, Scott Davidson '96, and
Mike King '93, take in a Cardinals game.

suggestions, and updates regarding your lives and careers. The biographical
update sent to alumni was very popular with a large response, and will be
used to spotlight alumni and share alumni news in our newsletters.

Andrew Vidal Memorial Scholarship
Fund Partners with The Scholarship
Foundation of St. Louis
T
he Andrew Vidal Memorial Scholarship fund (AVMS) will be collaborating with The
Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis, allowing the AVMS fund to further define the
scholarship and streamline the application process. Andrew pledged Sigma Pi in the fall of
1997 and graduated five years later. He was tragically killed in a car accident on November
9, 2003, and his friends and family set up this scholarship in his honor. Beginning in 2014,
the application process will be part of College Central, the online application site of the The Scholarship
Foundation. There will be more information to come about fundraising and where to find it online. For
now please continue to find us at www.avmsfund.com.
