Delta Tau Delta Brothers Recruit 35 New Members Chapter Excels in Academics O ur chapter has gotten off to a very good start this semester. The recruitment chairmen did an outstanding job this summer recruiting 35 men who will be initiated on November 9. We work hard to improve our academic record and have made great strides in this area in the past year, raising our overall chapter GPA to above a 3.0. We have set the goal to be in the top three of all fraternities on campus in GPA and are very confident that we can reach this goal this semester. Beta Tau Builds Leaders Boosting chapter involvement is a priority for us. We have increased our chapter meeting attendance over the past couple of semesters, but would like to raise it above 90 percent. We expect to have nearly every member in attendance for every chapter meeting. We would also like to see more of our members taking leadership roles on campus. We have several great leaders in our ranks, including NSE leaders, president of College Republicans, and president of the Big Red Investment Club. Brothers visit the Rocky Mountains during the summer. Delts assist the local JDRF foundation at their annual Walk for a Cure program. Undergraduates Partner with JDRF Our philanthropic efforts have increased this semester. We have followed the lead of our national fraternity and collaborated with the local Juvenile Diabetes Relief Fund (JDRF). Members helped organize and participate in the Walk for a Cure in September. Our chapter is excited to start a new philanthropy this fall, the Delt Derby. This will be a whiffle ball home run derby held outside the Shelter. We will provide food to the participants and the money we raise will go toward helping JDRF find a cure for type 1 diabetes. Best House on Campus We have been enjoying the Shelter renovations. Our new study rooms are constantly in use as members work to meet their academic goals. The suite-style rooms are the highest in demand. Overall, our renovations have made the Shelter the nicest house on campus and members strive to keep it in good shape to maintain that title. We are very excited for the rest of this semester. We believe that we have the best pledge class on campus, coupled with already outstanding members. We are confident that we can meet our goals and improve our chapter this semester.
