the beta tau blaster Join the Alumni Advisory Team Beta Tau Needs Your Support W e recognize the importance of advisors throughout our daily activities and in our work and professional lives. It is important for our chapter members to learn from one another, but they would all benefit by having the mentorship and guidance of a formalized advisory team. The basic function of an alumni advisory team is to carry out the duties and responsibilities assigned to the chapter advisor and the assistant chapter advisor by the Arch Chapter. Members of the Alumni Advisory Team (AAT) will be responsible for keeping up to date on new fraternity programs and UNL policies, receiving and replying to e-mails, visiting the Shelter, and attending AAT and chapter meetings. Members will also have personal duties and responsibilities. For example, the financial advisor will assist the chapter treasurer by serving as a member of the finance committee, certifying completion of monthly financial reports and helping with the annual budget. The road advisor will assist chapter members with life skills such as resume writing, interviewing skills, etiquette and manners, graduate school applications, and fraternity involvement as an alumnus. The positions available are financial advisor, recruitment advisor, membership education advisor, risk management advisor, academic advisor, alumni advisor, road advisor, community service advisor, ritual advisor, and house and grounds advisor. The chapter advisor serves as chairman of the AAT. Members of the AAT are responsible for mentoring and guiding their specific officer as well as the mentorship of all chapter members. The team will meet regularly, attend division/regional conference of Karnea with the chapter delegation every other year, and serve in their role for a minimum of two years. My involvement with the fraternity through the House Corporation has been an energizing experience. The opportunity to engage again in the fraternal experience with the members of the board and with the young men has rekindled many fond memories and a deeper understanding of how important the fraternity is today as it was years ago. It's an exceptional opportunity to give back what we gained from those who were there for all of us and to be part of the future success of our chapter members. If you are interested or know someone who would make a great advisor, please contact me to learn more about the AAT or one of the specific positions. Fraternally, James Loach, Epsilon Omega '67 House Corporation President james_loach@nps.gov Thank you for helping us reach our goal! All donors who contributed $1,000 or more to the A Commitment to Beta Tau Excellence: Honoring Our Past ~ Securing Our Future campaign are featured on the donor wall, prominently displayed in the basement library of the Shelter. T Brothers Bond during Alumni Golf Tournament he alumni golf tournament was a huge success this summer in Omaha. There were 10 groups of alumni and six groups of actives that participated in the four-man scramble. Additional alumni and actives enjoyed drinks and snacks after the rounds were played. Almost everyone in attendance went home with a prize from the raffle. Prizes included shirts, beverages, gift cards, and a free round of golf. Donations were made from several alumni as well as a few actives that provided pin prizes for the event. It was a nice outing for alumni to reconnect with each other and for actives to make new connections with older brothers. The annual golf tournament grows every year and we hope to continue this trend next summer. Come see the renovations that you made possible. I speak for the whole chapter when I say that we are extremely appreciative of your support and we enjoy the renovations immensely.
