PAGE Beta Theta Pi Focus on Philanthropy Raises Funds for Make-a-Wish Foundation T he spring 2013 semester was yet another excellent time for raising money. The men of Alpha Chapter teamed up with the women of Chi Omega to conduct the annual King of the Wing chicken wing eating contest. This year's philanthropy consisted of 32 teams and raised $2,216 with an additional donation of $264 from Buffalo Wild Wings. All donations were sent to the Make-a-Wish Foundation to help grant the wishes of those children diagnosed with terminal illnesses. 4 Congratulations, Spring 2013 Pledge Class Trent Jervis Dayton, Ohio Pat Bedford Chicago, Ill. Nick Finney Cincinnati, Ohio Ben Stevens Cincinnati, Ohio Raphael Gobidas Cleveland, Ohio Even members of the chapter's advisory board participated in this year's King of the Wing chicken wing eating contest.  More than 50 groups participated this year. Charlie Starrett was the lucky recipient of one of those pies from friends. Zach Hoehn Cincinnati, Ohio Ian Bennet Alexandria, Ohio In -kai-, Matt Meeks '15 Timmy Adelman Roselle, Ill. Zach Thomas Cincinnati, Ohio Michael Henry Rocky River, Ohio Alpha Chapter sponsored another successful Mom's Weekend in the spring.  Close to 80 mothers attended and experienced a fun-filled weekend that included our annual awards luncheon, a concert at the house, and a live auction that generated funds to support brothers' attendance at leadership programs sponsored by Miami and the General Fraternity.
