LML, Andrea Cronig Mindell '79 House Corporation President amindell@live.com Alumna Thankful for AEPhi Experience Amanda Tomack '07 Learns Invaluable Leadership Skills in Chapter A manda Tomack '07 is thankful for the role that AEPhi has played in her life. As a freshman in college, she was eager to gain a sorority experience similar to her grandmother, who was an AEPhi at Penn State University. Amanda connected with many of the ladies at recruitment and was excited to become a legacy member. She felt AEPhi would help cultivate her leadership skills and give her an outlet to enjoy college. "The women really made it a priority for everyone to get to know each other individually. My pledge class was a very strong and tight-knit group of 27 women." Our beautiful new landscaping welcomes visitors to the AEPhi house. Join Us for Homecoming Sunday, October 20 J oin us at the chapter house (200 E. 17th Ave.) as guests of the undergraduate chapter from noon to 2 p.m. for our Homecoming celebration. RSVP to aephiosu.vpoperations@gmail.com by October 7 if you plan to attend. Hope to see you there! Amanda enjoys teaching preschool children through the Teach for America program. After earning a bachelor's degree in English, Amanda began teaching preschool children through the Teach for America program. Eventually, Amanda would like to work in higher education and administration at a Big 10 school like Ohio State. When asked if AEPhi had an impact on her career, Amanda said, "It taught me to listen and communicate with a variety of people. I use the leadership skills that I learned in Rho Chapter in my classroom. Without people like Melissa Glazer '06, I might not be as strong of a leader as I am. I really looked up to her as a role model in the chapter and in the Greek community." Amanda still keeps in touch with her sisters and visits the chapter when she can. After visiting for Homecoming last year, Amanda said, "It's amazing how the chapter has grown but still manages to keep its values in focus." Amanda encourages the undergraduates to enjoy their college experience. "Make the most out of your AEPhi experience and allow it to help you become a better leader. Always take advantage of what is available to you."
