Get to Know Regional Director and Volunteer Specialist Michael Cross, Rutgers University '23 I graduated from Rutgers University in spring 2023. I joined the New Jersey Beta Chapter when it was an expansion and was among the first 10 members. As a result, I relate to the brothers at Illinois Alpha. During my time in the chapter, I served as vice president of communications and BMS chairman. This year, I am serving as a Regional Director and Volunteer Specialist (RDVS) for Illinois Alpha. I am here for a few reasons: in the fall, it was to aid the expansion process, and this semester, it's about transitioning them to operate fully on their own. I have done a good amount with the undergraduate chapter: 1. Officer training. Provided training and mentorship to undergraduate officers about their specific roles and general leadership. 2. Recruitment support. Helped the chapter recruit new members through running events, etc. 3. University relationship. Facilitated meetings between undergraduate leaders and university officials and worked on building a positive relationship. By the time I leave Illinois Alpha, I want to see them operating all aspects of the chapter smoothly, be at manpower around the 30 mark, and have a true sense of brotherly love around them. Fraternally, Michael Cross, Rutgers University '23 Regional Director and Volunteer Specialist ILLINOIS ALPHA CHAPTER EXECUTIVE BOARD Veer Patel '27, President Veer is a freshman majoring in information sciences. From day one, he has taken the initiative and worked hard to get Illinois Alpha up and moving. He sees so much potential in this chapter, and we are excited to have him lead. Vincent Feldman '27, VP of SigEp Learning Communities Vincent is a freshman majoring in political science. He was the second guy to join the chapter and is super pumped to have a leadership role. He wants to take SLC in an innovative direction. Devan Mehta '27, VP of Communications Devan is a freshman who is majoring in industrial engineering. He has experience with social media marketing promoting his music, and plans to use this skill in his role as VP of Communications. He wants to use social media to show how warm, welcoming, and fun it is to be part of Illinois Alpha. Jonas Porsche '27, Chaplain Jonas is a freshman, in a business undeclared major. He is an Eagle Scout and is aiming to take the many lessons he learned during that experience and use them to be a fantastic chaplain. Donovan Chester '25, VP of Membership Development Donovan is a junior and was the first member to join our chapter. He pursued this position because he is passionate about developing members and providing them with opportunities to better themselves. Trent Hettinger '28, VP of Recruitment Trent is a freshman in ROTC and has already established himself as a leader in the chapter. He has demonstrated passion for bringing new brothers in, having already recruited four new members. There's no better man for the job. Robert Styburski '27, VP of Programming Rob is a freshman studying actuarial science, but he isn't just a numbers guy. Working with each member of the executive board, Rob's team facilitates programming that adds value outside of the classroom. This spring he led the chapter leaders to Columbia to shadow the Mizzou chapter. Patrick Sheng '25, VP of Finance Patrick is a junior studying computer engineering. He ran for VPF because he wanted a baseline understanding of how organizations function so he can accelerate into a leadership role as a professional in a technical field. Patrick also plays a critical role on the club rugby team at Illinois. L E A R N A B O U T H I S W O R K W I T H I L L I N O I S A L P H A
