After hosting an onsite Kappa Kappa Friday Lunch as well as an in-person board meeting (which has returned after many pandemic Zoom meetings), it was decided that Xi not only needed multiple bathroom remodels, but also a first-floor refresh. The first floor's design includes new rugs, fresh paint, and new carnation wallpaper (a focal point for the living room) as well as bright new lighting throughout the entire first floor. The House Corporation also purchased two walnut lyre tables and two lyre benches from the Willie Desch Shafer '53 estate to honor the memory of Willie's time on the board. Our members are enjoying a newly renovated third-floor bathroom, which they were eager to show off during recruitment. The bathroom boasts all-new neutral tile, quartz countertops, an LED makeup mirror, as well as new shower and toilet stalls. Our second-floor bathroom is a larger endeavor and planned for summer 2024. With four toilets, five showers, eight sinks, and wall-to-wall tile, this is at minimum a $140,000 project that will need support from our alumnae. HCB will also fund this project through a portion of our lease payment collected from the chapter. Please consider joining our board to learn more about how we support chapter projects! You can contact me for more info about our meetings and time commitment. Our beautiful chapter house, which has been a home to so many, is a bit of a high-maintenance gal. She serves us well, but like the rest of us, she shows her age and needs ongoing support and love. We would love to have you join us as we continue to make this a home to current and future Xi Chapter members. August 1 kicked off the new fiscal year for Alpha Chi Omega collegiate and alumnae chapters. We would love, love, love to have you jump on board and join us for monthly lunches and other events throughout the year. This year, we are incorporating several tiers to our membership options. The new tiers allow alumnae to support our Nebraska Kappa Kappa Alumnae Chapter at a level that feels most comfortable. Note: Each tier supports the efforts of the tiers below it plus an additional effort. Founders - $18.85 (Non-participating level) Supports Xi Chapter and National Dues. Red Carnation - $35 (Participating membership level) Also supports Founders Day. Pearl - $60 (Participating membership level) Also includes a donation for domestic violence awareness.
