Student athletes are making television commer- cials and can play for a new school each season. This presentation, led by Dr. Molly Harry, Assis- tant Professor of Recreation and Sport Manage- ment at the University of Arkansas, will explore how current changes in college athletics will shape the future of big-time sports programs. Two significant and recent changes to NCAA sports, "NIL" (Name, Image & Likeness) and the burgeoning transfer portal, will be examined by Dr. Harry. She will discuss the pros/cons of these new policies, pertinent and upcoming court cas - es, scandals, and the potential for athletes to be reclassified as employees. National trends along with Arkansas-specific data will be presented. DESCRIPTION: The Arkansas Country Doc- tor Museum preserves and celebrates the histo- ry of healthcare in rural America and the people who served their fellow man by providing that health care. Housed in a building that served as the home of three doctors and as a primary clin- ic for the small town of Lincoln, Arkansas, from 1936 to 1973, the museum presents the life of a small-town doctor and the history of medicine as it was practiced in the early 20th century. We live in a world that increasingly involves too much com- munication whether digitally or paper-based. Both versions need solutions to better help you manage your life. But where to begin and how do you choose what is right for you? Mike Horsman, a former educator and sales professional, will help you weed through the information overload to create strategies and methods to assist you with managing your time. And (with some practice) you will be ready to earn money by working parties/ events as a balloon artist. Note: This is not just your typical balloon ani- mals but also how to turn these items into table centerpieces or other decorations. Balloon materials will be provided. Dr. Margaret Tremwel, stroke neu- rologist and medical director at Washington Re- gional Medical Center's Comprehensive Stroke Program, has extensive experience in stroke treatment. She will provide participants with up-to-date information on the impact of stroke in Arkansas, the effects of stroke on those who experience it, and lifestyle modifications that help to decrease risk of stroke. Information will also be provided on the lat- est treatment options for hyperacute stroke available in Northwest Arkansas. The presentation, brought to participants by John Davis, the new executive director for the Pryor Center, will include clips of their most recent projects, stories from their col - lections, and a discussion of upcoming efforts to preserve Arkansas culture through the words of those who lived it. Additionally, those in attendance will get a tour of the Pryor Center facility--including the bank vault now used as a state-of-the-art interview space. INSTRUCTOR: John C. DESCRIPTION: It seems like each day some- thing new is written about the capabilities of ChatGPT, and the potential disruption it poses to education as well as the private sector. In this session, attendees will be provided a basic over - view of how large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT work. Chris Bryson, Executive Director of the Aca- demic Initiatives and Integrity Office at the University of Arkansas, will share a case example focused on academic integrity in higher education which will demonstrate the impact ChatGPT has already had in this space. Additionally, the steps UARK and other insti - tutions have taken to account for this tech- nology as it progresses will be discussed. Finally, this presentation will include an inter- active session with ChatGPT and participants to explore what it can do. INSTRUCTOR: Chris Bryson
