Eleven Eleven Report Gamma Tau Chapter of Delta Tau Delta university of kansas n Spring 2023 KEEP OUR DELT CONNECTIONS STRONG Scholarship and Alumni Event Updates H ello, Brothers! Spring has sprung and the end of the school year is upon us. The guys in the active chapter and house corporation remain busy, so here are some updates for you in this issue of Eleven Eleven Report. By the time you receive this newsletter, the April Kansas Delts Alumni Weekend will have happened. This year, the weekend featured a cornhole tournament and other activities at the Shelter and various establishments in Lawrence. As we mentioned in the fall newsletter issue, the golf courses in Lawrence have limited weekend golf events, but we were able to book Eagle Bend golf course for Saturday, September 16. So, we will now also have a September Alumni Weekend! Consistent with last year, we will place an emphasis on having Alumni Weekends with activities for both golfers and non-golfers—everyone save the date! At the April Alumni Weekend, we also announced the Eugene B. Hibbs Scholarship Awards for this year. The Hibbs Scholarship has been a lasting gift to the Gamma Tau Chapter—I received one of these scholarships 30 years ago! Because of this, it was very special to be able to participate on the scholarship committee and grant the same scholarships this year. While this has been an impressive scholarship fund, we can do more. To that end, the house corporation has been developing an expansion of the scholarship program, which we look forward to sharing with you later this year. I look forward to seeing you in the coming months at the Shelter! Hopefully, you'll take the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, see the Shelter and her improvements, and meet and interact with the men in the active chapter. Don't forget, we have a career panel discussion where alumni in a specified career field can participate on a panel to discuss career opportunities, answer questions, and offer guidance to active members. If you are interested in participating, please provide your contact information and career field using the email address below. Rock Chalk Jayhawk, Brad Stasiulis '91 House Corporation Alumni Relations Chairman ksdelts@gmail.com bstasiulis@gmail.com "I may have been the easiest pledge to sign in Gamma Tau history," Scott Roberts '91 said about the exceptional impression Delta Tau Delta left on him as a young man. After seeing several students from his high school become Delts, Scott joined and found tremendous guidance, lessons, and lifelong friendships that he still cherishes today. During Scott's four years in the Shelter, he was grateful for many service opportunities that prepared him for professional life through collaborative activities and leadership lessons. Scott particularly enjoyed his role as a recruitment chairman alongside Charlie Ammeen '91 and Ryan Ross '91. "We were able to recruit an outstanding group of young men to our chapter. Watching them grow and develop during their four years and seeing them now become great professionals, husbands, and fathers, and knowing that time in Delta Tau Delta was important to their success, makes me very proud." Staying connected to academics, Scott has worked for 28 years in the Blue Valley School District, currently as an executive director for school administration. Scott previously worked as a teacher and building administrator in what he considers one of the best school districts in the nation. In his personal life, Scott is proud to stay socially connected with alumni Brothers. One was even the best man in Scott's wedding, and several accompanied as groomsmen. Scott has been happily married to Tish Wilson Roberts for 28 years, with four children between ages 15-23. He enjoys traveling with his family and visiting new beaches whenever they get a chance. Scott hopes to reconnect with alumni Brothers now that he is working on a scholarship program with the house corporation that would assist undergraduate members with their college experience. He hopes to have more information to share with fellow alumni soon, but in the meantime, you can connect with Scott at sroberts@bluevalleyk12.org. THE ONLY FRATERNITY FOR ME THE ONLY FRATERNITY FOR ME Scott Roberts '91 on Delt Bonds, Academic Endeavors "I often tell others in my professional setting that I learned so much about how to lead people, learn from and with people, and work toward common goals in my Delt experience."
