They will discuss how various aspects of military life impact families who have children with Autism . Deployments, PCS moves, changing schools, and other experiences common to the military lifestyle are challenging for everyo- ne, but there are ways to help ease the stress for your child with special needs. He is the resident bird expert and will join Bell's Seed Store to share his knowledge on birds. Don't recognize one of your backyard birds? Bring a picture and whatever birding questions are flittering through your head. Broadfoot will educate, inform and entertain the bird lovers of Fayetteville. Court Team (We Over- come Recidivism Through Healing) will present "Day of Hope: Human Trafficking" at Cumberland Hall on the Fayetteville Technical Community College campus. This is in partnership with the Child Advocacy Center of Fayetteville. The CAC has put together several initiatives dur- ing the month of January to bring awareness to a crime that destroys the lives of thousands each year. Research conducted by the American Civil Liberties Union suggests that between 15,000 and 18,000 people are trafficked yearly. LAND OF THE LONGLEAF PINE LAKE RIM PARK 3 p.m. The pine tree is North Carolina's State Tree. While it wasn't officially designated as such, most people believe that the honor was reserved for the longleaf pine specifically. TUESDAY, JANUARY 31 THURSDAY, JANUARY 26 STARWARD STEM DOUGLAS BYRD HIGH SCHOOL 4 p.m. The STARward STEM Expo is the culmina- ting event of the STARward STEM Design Challenge that will include student presen- tations of project-based learning work, demonstrations by STEM industry experts and the announcement of the winning student design-challenge experiments to be launched to the International Space Station later this year. The event is open to students, families, educators, and other supporters of STEM education in the Cumberland County region. 10 a.m. TUESDAY, JANUARY 31 FRIDAY, JANUARY 27 MATILDA: THE MUSICAL CAPE FEAR REGIONAL THEATRE 7:30 p.m. Matilda is an extraordinary girl with an appetite for books. ALL ABOUT BIRDS BELL'S SEED STORE 5 p.m. Joshua Lozoff is a speaker/magician/men- talist, and former TV and film actor. He currently tours the U.S. performing his magic and mentalism show "Life is Magic" at performing arts centers and corporate events. Additionally, his keynote presen- tation, "The Magic of Communication," makes him a frequent presenter at confer- ences around the country. Lazoff will not only perform in front of the crowd but also be in the audience performing tricks before the official show starts. It will be a great opportunity to watch a true mentalist at work. SATURDAY, JANUARY 28 THURSDAY, JANUARY 26 BUTTER MAKING CLASS DOWNTOWN MARKET 6 p.m. Make butter with the Downtown Market of Fayetteville. In this hands-on class, they will discuss the steps to make your own buttermilk. Then they will guide you through the craft of churning your own fresh butter. You will make both a deli - cious golden butter and flavor/compound butter to take home with you. Each class will make a new flavor compound and will have different recipes on how to use your buttermilk. Tickets are $75 and include two containers of butter to take home, a container of buttermilk to take home, a recipe card for buttermilk and a grazing board and drinks for during the class.
