Learn about our constellations, other celestial objects and the folklore behind them. Bring telescopes and binoculars if you have them. This program occurs after park operating hours. JOSHUA LOZOFF: LIFE IS MAGIC CAPE FEAR VINEYARD & WINERY Joshua Lozoff is a speaker/magician/ mentalist, and former TV and film actor. He currently tours the United States performing his magic and men- talism show "Life is Magic" at perform- ing arts centers and corporate events. His credits include the popular feature film Clueless and his acclaimed recurring role on Cheers as Gino Tortelli. Lazoff will not only perform in front of the crowd but also be in the audience performing tricks before the official show starts. From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., there will be a cocktail hour and then a prime rib dinner at 7 p.m. The magic show will follow dinner. JANUARY 28 JANUARY 21 WINTER WONDERLAND SNEAKER BALL VOLTA SPACE The purpose of this gala is to bring the community together and celebrate the life of those who lost their lives to senseless gun violence and violence overall. Heal the Ville's mission and vision are to provide an environment of elegance and peace. This year's theme is "It's Time for a Social Change." Bringing the community to- gether one sneaker at a time to end violence by providing a magical night of dancing, laughter, food, speakers, and beauty. Allowing the voices of the community that have lived these tragedies and community guests to share what is available for the individuals who need assistance to cope mentally, physically, and emotionally. Together the community can and will decrease gun violence one sneaker at a time. JANUARY 21 JUBILATE DEO CONCERT FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH Dan Forrest's Jubilate Deo exemplifies the Psalm 100 text, "O be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands," by including move- ments in seven different languages. Experience influences from different musical cultures as the Fayetteville Symphony and voices from First Presbyterian Church take you on a joyous and worldly journey with Dan Forrest's beloved Jubilate Deo. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be bought at ci.ovationtix.com/36404/production/1124293. POLAR BEAR PLUNGE SMITH LAKE Join Fort Bragg MWR for a Tiki themed Polar Bear Plunge! There will be music, hot cocoa, hot coffee and a warming area. Floating rubber ducks will be out in the swimming area with numbers written on the bottom of each one. When the horn goes off, you will jump into the water and retrieve a duck. The numbers on the bottom will enter you into a drawing for prizes (bowling, ice skating, cabin rental, shotgun passes, etc.). Sign- in begins at 9 a.m. This event is open to DoD ID cardholders. All ages are welcome. It is a $5 fee and you can register at Smith Lake. For more information, call (910) 396-0005. JANUARY 28 JANUARY 31 LONGLEAF PINE LAKE RIM PARK The pine tree is North Carolina's State Tree. While it wasn't officially desig- nated as such, most people believe that the honor was reserved for the longleaf pine specifically. Find out what makes this tree so important to our state's history and to the nature of the Southeast. At the end of the event, participants can take home a free longleaf pine cone. This event is free and is open to people of all ages. The event starts at 3 p.m. and ends around 4:30 p.m. Call or register online at register.fcpr.us.
