T22 WHATS UP! December 25 - 31, 2022 The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Musician DJ Khaled is offering fans a unique chance to book an Airbnb stay in his shoe closet. It's perfect for anyone who loves the smell of sweaty feet and be- ing woken up by a man scream- ing his own name. Belgium is struggling to inciner- ate all of the cocaine it seized in yet another record year. Well, there's an easy fix. If they're struggling to keep up, give the people running the incinerator cocaine. They will not sleep un- til the job is done. After a series of very public set- backs, Elon Musk's 2022 wealth loss exceeds $100 billion. Listen, Elon, I know belt-tightening is no fun, but you're not alone in these tough economic times. OK, all of us are having to cut back on how many cars we have to shoot into space. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Today [Nov. 21], New York is- sued the first licences to open marijuana dispensaries. And if you thought bumping into your teacher in a store was awkward... Over the weekend [Nov. 20], Elon Musk reinstated former president Trump's Twitter ac- count. But when asked if he'd re- turn to the platform, Trump said, "I don't see any reason for it." I'm shocked. It's like Trump driving by McDonald's without stopping. I saw that Kanye West said he's running for president in 2024. To Kanye's credit, he's already unit- ed both sides in saying, "No thanks." Jimmy Kimmel Live! They're gearing up for the holi- days at the White House. Yester- day [Nov. 21] the White House Christmas tree was delivered via horse and carriage. This has been a presidential tradition since Joe Biden was a teenager back in 1889. Joe's birthday wasn't the only Biden bash this weekend. His granddaughter Naomi got mar- ried there [at the White House] on Saturday [Nov. 19]. It was a beautiful ceremony, and I for one can't wait for Republicans in the House to launch a 12-month investigation into it. Late Night with Seth Meyers The White House has released a so-called menu of accomplish- ments that supporters can use to talk up President Biden around the Thanksgiving table. And that way, your parents won't even have to ask if you're still single. Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock's campaign yesterday [Nov. 22] premiered a new video that fea- tures Republican challenger Herschel Walker's former teach- er, which is brave, because I can't imagine having to tell people that you taught Herschel Walker everything he knows. Republican Sen. Ted Cruz post- ed a picture yesterday [Nov. 22] of former Democratic presiden- tial hopeful Andrew Yang. Though, if he's hanging out with Ted Cruz, I can guarantee he is no longer Democratic or hope- ful. Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley post- ed a photo yesterday [Nov. 22] of his vacuum cleaner and said, "Thanksgiving has arrived." So, I guess the only mystery is which of those things he meant to do. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul this week signed a bill into law partially banning the mining of cryptocurrency. So, you know what that means, hopefully, be- cause I don't. The Late Late Show With James Corden Tomorrow be sure to show some extra gratitude to whoever is hosting your dinner, because this year, Thanksgiving meal prices have risen to an all-time record high. In other words, it's going to cost you an arm and a leg for a wing and a thigh. A New York animal sanctuary is giving visitors the option of tur- key cuddling. This is real, you can cuddle with a real live tur- key while feeding it cranberries and grapes. The experience costs $50, but if you drop $60, you might get something a little extra. LATE LAUGHS BY MICHELLE ROSE TV Media Final bow: He's been on "Dancing With the Stars" since the very beginning, but after 17 years and 31 seasons, head judge Len Goodman is ready to enjoy the retirement life. The 78-year-old judge an- nounced his exit on air during last month's double elimination semifinal. "This will be my last season judging 'Dancing With the Stars,'" Goodman said. "I've been on the show since it started in 2005, and it has been a huge pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful show, but I've decid- ed I want to spend more time with my grandchildren and fam- ily back in Britain." Goodman started out as the head judge on BBC One's "Strictly Come Dancing" and re- mained with the show until 2016. In the meantime, he joined the American adaptation, "Dancing With the Stars," during its inau- gural season (2005), along with Carrie Ann Inaba ("The Talk") and choreographer Bruno Toni- oli ("Strictly Come Dancing"), and the three judges have been a regular fixture ever since, with dancer Derek Hough ("Hair- spray Live!," 2016) joining them in 2020. (Goodman did miss Season 21 due to scheduling and family commitments and was limited to short segments in Sea- son 29 due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.) "Grumpy Len" isn't the only departing member of the "Danc- ing With the Stars." Two-time champion Cheryl Burke also an- nounced, via Instagram, that she would be stepping down as a professional dancer on the show after 26 seasons: "This show has been my 2nd family since I was 21 years old. The cast, crew & fans have seen me through my highest highs & some of my low- est lows, & I honestly don't know who I would be today without them. I also know that it is time for me to begin the next phase of my career, although dance will always be a part of me." Burke has been vocal about her desire to remain with the show in another capacity. In an interview with Variety, Burke spoke of her interest in becom- ing a judge, and possibly filling Goodman's now-vacated seat at the judges' table: "They [DWTS executives] have been very well aware for probably a few years now. So, unfortunately, that deci- sion is not up to me. I would love to still be a part of the family; I just would love a different role on the show, just like anybody after 26 seasons of having that same title." Hello Ruby Sunday: Every good Doctor needs a companion — that's just how it works in "Doctor Who." "Coronation Street" actress Millie Gibson has been tapped to play Ruby Sunday, compan- ion to the Fifteenth Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa ("Sex Education"). And, according to the BBC, both characters will be introduced to viewers some- time during the 2023 holiday season. Speaking about her casting, Gibson stated: "Whilst still be- ing in total disbelief, I am be- yond honored to be cast as the Doctor's companion. It is a gift of a role, and a dream come true, and I will do everything to try and fill the boots the fellow com- panions have travelled in before me. And what better way to do that than being by the fabulous Ncuti Gatwa's side. I just can't wait to get started." Her soon-to-be co-star com- mented on the casting, saying "Millie just is the companion. She is full of talent, strength, she has a cheeky sparkle in her eye and is sharp as a razor." Gatwa continued: "From the moment she walked into the room, she captured all of our attention with her effervescence and then solidified that attention with the sheer torque of her talent. This adventure is going to be so wild and so fun, I cannot WAIT to sail the universe with Millie!" And series showrunner Rus- sell T. Davies teased: "As a 'Coro- nation Street' fan, I've seen Mil- lie survive chases, guns and sieg- es, but that's nothing compared to what lies ahead for Ruby Sun- day." Gibson's Ruby Sunday joins a long list of notable companions who have appeared since the long-running British series was revived in 2005. One of them is Donna Noble, played by actress Catherine Tate ("Hard Cell"), who is set to reprise her role alongside David Tennant's ("Good Omens") fourteenth Doctor in the upcoming festive specials. Meet 'The Hilsons': A new multi-camera family comedy is reportedly in the works at CBS. "The Hilsons" is a collabora- tion between "The Neighbor- hood" writer/actor Malik Sanon and star/executive producer Ce- dric the Entertainer. It's the story of a mother and her two adult sons who thought they knew each other, until they're forced to live under the same roof for the first time in more than 20 years. They quickly discover they've all got something to hide, but as a loving family, they learn to live together again and accept each other for who they really are. Sanon, who stars as Trey in CBS's "The Neighborhood" and serves as supervising producer, will pick up an executive pro- ducer credit for "The Hilsons." And, according to Deadline, which first reported the project was in the works, Sanon could potentially appear on-screen in a supporting role. Head judge Len Goodman is leaving "Dancing With the Stars" STARS ON SCREEN
