Aside from the skilful handling of flour and sugar, obviously one needs to have determination, drive, a desire to win … and lots and lots of energy. This quickly becomes evi- dent in the new docuseries "Bake It 'Til You Make It," pre- miering Monday, Dec. 26, on Food Network. Through seven half-hour episodes, the series offers viewers an inside look into the world of competitive baking, from cake conventions to cookie shows, and the "ex- tremely enthusiastic, over-the- top personalities that partici- pate," according to Food Net- work. The docuseries zooms in on seven competitors, who wel- come viewers into their home kitchens as they plan, bake, as- semble and decorate incredi- ble creations that will hopeful- ly win them the top prize. "With 'Bake It 'Til You Make It,' we are able to pull back the curtain on the world of com- petitive baking, giving viewers a front-row seat to the highs and lows of each baker's quest for success," Jane Latman, president of home and food content and streaming for Warner Bros. Discovery, said in a statement. "The creations are incredible, the determina- tion dogged, and the wild ride from ideation to presentation is something to behold." As narrator, frequent baking show competition host and master cake artist Duff Gold- man ("Kids Baking Champion- ship") will introduce the bak- ers and guide viewers through the action. Some of the partici- pants are amateur bakers, while others are professionals; regardless of where they are in their competitive experience, they're all pursuing their dream of a sweet victory in some of the country's toughest and most prestigious competi- tions. The seven bakers featured in "Bake It 'Til You Make It" are: Monty Alderman, a former football player turned cupcake maker; Lili Clinger, a first-time baking competitor; Maythe Del Angel, an accomplished baker and sugar artist who is seeking to raise her profile; RaChelle Hubsmith, a baker with decades of competitive experience; Anamaria Mo- rales, whose cheesecakes helped cover the costs of her college education; Kareem Queeman, a cake artist who's ready to put his cookie-making skills to the test; and Sumera Syed, a nanny who's ready to make the leap into the world of baking.
