November 27 - December 3, 2022 WHATS UP! T11 nal tune specifically for the show — but it's not the only one. And the other example is a lot less fun. The band is best known for lighthearted and slightly goofy songs, which made it a great fit for "The Big Bang Theory," but the band has always had a way of sneaking sadder, more serious songs onto its albums. One such song, "What a Good Boy," was used to pro- mote the A&E reality show "Intervention," about addicts getting help from their loved ones. A&E used it in early ads promoting the show. It's easy to see the thematic connections between song and show: "Intervention" is about people struggling under pressure at particular mo- ments in their lives and get- ting help from those who knew them before and who want to help them get back to a better place. "What a Good Boy" is also about pressure, and about tak- ing a longer view of life (it's also more specifically about pushing back against gender roles, which is less connected). The tear-jerking ballad is a long way from the fast-paced bops the band is known for — singer and lyricist Steven Page called it an "obscure ballad" in the liner notes to a greatest hits collection. But the fact that it appeared in the promos for a major TV series — let alone on a greatest hits collec- tion — shows that the band deserves to be known for more than its wackiness. Q: Was that Gerard Butler I saw in "Tomorrow Never Dies"? He's only on screen for a minute, but I feel like it was him. A: You're overestimating his screen time by about 50 sec- onds, but otherwise you're ex- actly right. A young Gerard Butler, nine years before he became an ac- tion superstar with "300" (2006), appeared as an un- named seaman on a ship that's under attack in the 1997 James Bond movie "Tomorrow Nev- er Dies." He could very easily have ended up as an uncredited ex- tra, but his character does get one line: "Sir, we're now 14 de- grees down by the stern." You can barely even make it out — partly because there's an alarm and a lot of shouting going on at the same time, and partly because Butler's Scot- tish accent was even thicker then. Despite its size, the role was not Butler's first. Two months before "Tomorrow Never Dies" was released, Butler de- buted (in a larger role) in the historical drama "Mrs. Brown," produced by BBC. The film also starred the great Judi Dench ("The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel," 2011) as Queen Victoria. Fun fact: Dench and Butler also appeared together in "To- morrow Never Dies," though she didn't share any of his 10 seconds of screen time. Have a question? Email us at questions@tvtabloid.com. What is he doing now? A: What you missed was Frank Fritz being fired from the long-running History show and a subsequent very public feud between its three stars. Fritz had been off the show since 2020. At first, it was claimed that he left to deal with health problems, but Frank himself said afterward that his fight with co-host Mike Wolfe preceded his health battles. "I haven't talked to Mike in two years," Fritz told the Sun newspaper in 2021. "He knew my back was messed up, but he didn't call me up and ask how I was doing." They've continued throwing shots at each other via social media in the year since. Meanwhile, Fritz has contin- ued running his antique shop, Frank Fritz Finds, in Illinois. But he's not over it. In Septem- ber, the Sun reported that the store had started selling T- shirts calling for Frank to be reinstated on the show. For her part, the show's oth- er star, Danielle Colby, said via Instagram that she was "truly saddened for the loss of Frank on the show," but put the blame squarely in his lap. "I wish things could have been different, but we must be accountable for our actions when we cause instability or pain and suffering to others." (It remains unclear which ac- tions, exactly, she's referring to.) Rob Wolfe, Mike's brother, has seen his role on the show expand since Frank's depar- ture. Once just an occasional presence on the show, he's now a regular fixture. Q: I love the theme to "The Big Bang Theory." Does that band do any other theme songs? A: Fan-favorite Canadian pop band Barenaked Ladies has appeared on countless TV and film soundtracks over the years, but usually just for the single use of hits from it large catalogue. "The Big Bang The- ory" theme song is the main exception — it wrote an origi- Frank Fritz and Mike Wolfe as seen in "American Pickers" HOLLYWOOD Q&A www.advancepestcontrolnwa.com Family Owned, Competitively Priced, Quality Service Since 1981 Rogers 479-636-5590 Springdale 479-756-1788 Eureka Springs 479-253-8967 PEST CONTROL TERMITE FERTILIZATION WEED CONTROL PRE-EMERGENTS
