2 MU NEWS HIGH ACHIEVERS Mu Chapter always provides an example of leadership on campus in scholarship and extracurricular involvement. We are consistently above the all-women's university average and one of the top Chapters in academic performance. Our collective GPA is a 3.6. Every single member in this Chapter works endlessly to ensure academic success. In the spring, we had four sisters admitted into the highly competitive Haas School of Business. Meanwhile, six were selected for studying abroad programming. We are happy to have them back this fall semester. Two Chi Omegas are currently sitting on the PHC executive council. A quick shoutout to PHC President Mia Villamayor '20 and PHC Director of Programming Roma Bedaker '21. SISTERHOOD EDUCATION Our events and Chapter programming are a time for us to learn from one another and grow closer. Programming is truly what differentiates our organization from others. This past year, we have been very fortunate to have a healthy community that allows us to do in-person events again. In January 2022, we incorporated the diversity, equity, and inclusion position onto the executive board. DEI Chairman Liv Rhee '20 has ensured a seamless transition within executive leadership. She has been a great force in the Chapter, leading open conversations and educating our sisters on sensitive topics. Sister Rhee, in collaboration with Community Development Director Paula O'Sullivan Compran '21, led weekend DEI chats with members and hosted educational events. PHILANTHROPY We are continuing to support Chi Omega's national philanthropy, Make-A-Wish, with incredible dedication; however, our Chapter is expanding our philanthropic reach to support local nonprofits as well. Spring Philanthropy Chairman Kelsey McIvor '20 and DEI Chairman Liv hosted a new fundraiser, Cupcakes with Chi O, to raise money for the Black Organizing Project in honor of Black History Month. The process was not easy, as their team of members were up until 2 a.m. frosting cupcakes, but it was definitely a college memory that they will never forget! They sold more than 200 cupcakes the next day on Sproul Plaza, ultimately raising more than $700 for the local nonprofit. It was a massive success, and we are very proud of the sisters involved. We are excited to kick off our fall philanthropy programming with new Philanthropy Chairman Sidney Carrigan '20. She has big plans for this semester that start with our annual pancake brunch, Wake Up for Wishes, which will be happening this October. We are also planning a BeReal fundraising campaign. REFLECTION My leadership at Mu Chapter has been so meaningful to me. I have discovered that we are surrounded by a group of young, powerful, determined people whose collaborative efforts on the UC Berkeley campus and immense devotion to the sisterhood has brought greater visibility to Mu. I am so excited to watch this fall pledge class grow. They have all already impressed me with their continuous dedication to active and new member education. Our Chapter is the most genuine, kind-hearted, and strong group of individuals I've ever seen. I've had the opportunity to really get to know you all, and I'm so proud to call you sisters.
