The ohio state university page 3 A fter what felt like a century, we were finally able to get back to in-person activities within our chapter this past year! 2022 KARNEA To start things off, Delta Tau Delta was able to host Karnea for the first time in four years in Norfolk, Virginia. We sent two new members, Rocco Prolizo '25 and Luis Gayola '25, who were eager to experience the most renowned event in our fraternity. They were able to learn so much about our chapter's history, rituals, and more than they could have imagined in just a few short days. BETTERING OURSELVES As we closed in on the school year, we wanted to strengthen the internal bond within our chapter. This fall, we will be participating in three retreats hosted by PLAID. PLAID is an organization designed to help Greek organizations strengthen their values and create a stronger chapter for their personal growth. Through their Ace Program, we will strengthen our fraternity and grow to become better leaders within our chapter, where we look to translate that into our neighboring communities. STAYING CONNECTED TO ALUMNI As always, our chapter looks to continue participating in alumni events throughout the year through golf outings, dinners, and socials. Our active brothers look forward to talking with the people who paved the way for us to be a part of the same brotherhood. GIVING BACK Along with our brotherhood events, we want to help the city of Columbus. Community service has started strong, as our brothers have gone to food pantries and soup kitchens to volunteer during the weekdays. We also have had two extremely dedicated philanthropy chairmen, John Lundstedt '24 and Alex Roth '24, who have spent all summer getting ready for fun and creative ways to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. So far, we have already hosted a dunk tank fundraiser partnered with Alpha Phi where we were able to raise over $1,000. We look forward to continuing to grow as men and leaders. Fraternally, Andrew Volschow '25 President The BesT of The BesT Actives Focus on Growth and Learning Co-Philanthropy Chairman John Lundstedt '24 and a few friends from Alpha Phi working the table at a dunk tank philanthropy event in early September. Both chapters were able to raise a great amount of money for their philanthropies! Two of our newest members, Luis Gayola '25 and Rocco Prolizo '25, representing Beta Phi at the Karnea. JD Folz '22, Colby Applegate '24, and Ethan Garee '24 at an alumni dinner celebrating our 57th annual Founder's Day. These three took home scholarships for their chapter leadership.
