Delta Tau Delta page 2 Never Too Late Jeffrey Paul Pelletier '94 Shares His Desire to Support the Chapter After some time off campus, Beta Phi began a reestablishment process in 2004. Jeff became the staff advisor for the group, working closely with central office staff, alumni, potential members, and early recruits to rebuild the chapter. In May 2006, Jeff was initiated as an alumnus alongside the undergraduate founding fathers. Although he followed a less-traditional route to become a Delt, his loyalty and commitment to the fraternity is unquestioned. Jeff continues to be a tireless advocate, advisor, and resource for the fraternity. During his time as advisor, Beta Phi earned the Hugh Shields Award and Jeff was recognized with the Al Sheriff Award and the Bill Fraering Award. After a decade in that role, Jeff became a division vice president and was elected as northern division president in 2019 (and reelected in 2021!), where he helped guide the fraternity through the challenges of COVID-19. Jeff lives in Columbus, Ohio, with his wife, Jen. They met and continue to work at Ohio State, where Jeff serves as director for the Ohio Union and Jen supports student leadership and service initiatives. (Continued from page 1) T he 2022-23 academic year has begun, and at the time of writing, the Buckeyes are 6-0. And just like the Bucks, the active chapter is charged and ready for an excellent year. With COVID seemingly behind us, the chapter is excited to get back some normalcy with philanthropy and brotherhood activities. Beta Phi's new executive leadership is doing a tremendous job leading this charge—I am excited to be partnering with them. STRENGTHENING THE BONDS The first and primary order of business this fall is satisfying the requirements set forth by Ohio State. A hefty charge, but I am positive this chapter and specifically the executive committee can meet the requirements. To meet these requirements, the chapter, along with the National Fraternity and House Corporation, have engaged a third party to provide four weekend retreats on culture change and leadership development. Nebraska recently utilized the same company and followed it up with winning a Hugh Shields. Beta Phi is very excited about those prospects. READY TO HELP? Recently, the House Corporation added two great additions to the board, Gerard Basalla '17 and Spencer Fries '17, who both live in the Columbus area. The association is always looking for more volunteers across all graduation years to better sever the chapter and Shelter. If interested, do not hesitate to reach out and ask how you can help. Looking forward to seeing all of you around the Shelter, the Shoe, or any one of the upcoming alumni events.
