Beta Phi Crier beta phi Chapter of Delta Tau Delta the ohio state university n Fall 2022 Bettering BETA PHI Help Support the Legacy of Paul Falkenbach '80 I hope this note finds you all well. I am not sure if I have shared with you, but I am proud to announce that I've joined the national Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation. After years of working with this group on behalf of Beta Phi, I became interested in the work that the National Fraternity is doing for every Delt chapter. I believe our fraternity's case for developing modern men is important. We have a great thing going at Beta Phi and our alumni have been a big part of that effort. I think we can be even stronger with a greater alignment and understanding of the priorities of the fraternity. PROGRAM SUPPORT The Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and Foundation have launched new national programs that have local impact and meet the needs of our chapter. Specifically, PresX and Catalyst are two that provide a great benefit to all chapters. PRESX President's Excellence Institute is a national summit of incoming Delt chapter presidents designed to ensure that each has the training to be a successful chapter CEO. Focus areas include holding others accountable, self-care, communication skills, change management, problem solving, and confidence building. Participants can meet other presidents from similar chapters, network with alumni, and learn from first-class facilitators. It teaches them how to relate to their peers as well as be a strong leader. They can take this training to their professional career after successfully leading their chapter. For more information, visit delts.org/presx. CATALYST Catalyst helps alumni chapter advisors to guide the active chapter using coaching skills. Relating to young members has never been more important. This worthwhile program teaches chapter advisors and other alumni volunteers how to make the chapter the best it can be. For more information, visit delts.org/catalyst. SUPPORTING BETA PHI The Forging the Future campaign is the largest in our history, and we have already made progress toward our ambitious goals. We are well on our way to reaching our $25 million goal, having raised over $23 million. Part of Forging the Future is an endowment created by Paul Falkenbach '80 before his death in January that honors his lifelong commitment to the fraternity. Paul's goal was $500,000, and pledges designated to his fund will go toward PresX and Catalyst for the education of both Delt youth and their advisors. To date, Paul's fund has raised $325,000 from four alumni: Paul Falkenbach '80, Bill McCloy '82, Chris Beem '87, and Buck Byrne '66. I believe in Delta Tau Delta for the education of youth and the inspiration of maturity. I hope you will join me and make a significant donation to this worthy cause. Fraternally, Millard B.
