After registering, you will immediately be able to vote at the same site. To register to vote, you must be a citizen of the United States, 18 years of age or older by the date of the next General Election and a legal resident of Cumberland County for 30 days before the date of the next election. Under federal and state law, if you apply to register to vote and do not provide a valid driver's license num- ber or last four digits of your Social Security number, on your application, you must enclose a copy of one of the following documents with your ap- plication: •A current and valid photo ID •A current utility bill, bank state- ment, government check, paycheck or other government document that shows your name and address. If you do not provide a valid form of ID, you will be asked to show ID the first time you present to vote. e 2022 General Election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. To check to see wheth- er you are registered to vote, view your Election Day polling location, and a sample ballot, go to https://vt.ncsbe. gov/RegLkup/. If you are registered to vote in Cumberland County and are unable to vote in person on Election Day, you may request an absentee ballot from the Cumberland County Board of Elections. Absentee ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections no later than 5 p.m. on the day of the election by mail or commercial courier service at the voter's expense or delivered in person by the voter, the voter's near relative or verifiable legal guardian. e Cumberland County Board of Elections is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. e Board of Elections is in the E.
