ΔΔΔ Delta Xi Chapter at the University of Missouri Fall 2022 Ensuring a High-Quality Home for Our Members House Corpora on Completes Updates—with More to Come! L iving in Columbia, you begin to notice a definite change every year in early August. The students returning to campus, especially those living at 901 Richmond, bring to town a renewed sense of excitement and energy! We were pleased to welcome our collegiate members back to our beloved Chapter House on August 7. The women were not only overjoyed to reconnect with their sisters, but also to see the beautiful new dining room and service area renovations! New paint, wall coverings, lighting, draperies, appliances, and cabinetry were installed over the summer. Members voiced that the new décor complemented and completed the look and feel of our main living spaces. The rooms look stunning, and we can't wait for you to come take a look! Many heartfelt thanks to Heidi Riemann Miles '80 and Kathy Hamby Walther '71 for their work on this project. In addition to the beautiful interior renovation, the Delta Xi House Corporation Board completed the vital task of replacing the roof, guttering, and historical trim pieces. Kathy Walther worked tirelessly to integrate the historic integrity of our house while implementing newer upgraded materials. We appreciate her efforts and the quality outcome. We are also very proud to report that the Delta Xi House Corporation received a $25,000 grant from Tri Delta Executive Office to help with the cost of this project. With the completion of these important renovations and the beginning of the new school year, the board will continue to evaluate chapter housing and facility needs. Renovations to exterior hardscaping, window replacement, safety lighting, as well as interior bathroom and plumbing improvements, are at the forefront. I would like to thank Marci Morley Boland '83 for her nine years served on the board and offer a warm welcome to Shannon Wright Morgan '92, our newest board member. Our house corporation strives to provide the highest-quality living experience for our collegiate members. While watching the young women move in, I was taken aback by just how many Deltas before and after me have called 901 Richmond their home. If you haven't had the opportunity to watch the open house video from this year's recruitment, I encourage you to do so and be reminded of the excitement and energy surrounding the "place we were made." Take a moment to watch it by scanning the QR code below. We love to keep our Tri Delta sisters connected! Please make sure to send any updates of your personal information, Tri Delta get-togethers, photos, and more to 901alumnae@gmail.com. R eaching professional milestones is cause for celebration, whether that be a promotion or, for Jenn Schott '94, writing a hit song. Jenn recently hit her highest achievement to date as a songwriter by having her song "7500 OBO," sung by Tim McGraw, reach #1 on country radio. "I'm so grateful and proud of this accomplishment," Jenn said. "Plus, '7500 OBO' was voted as one of the Nashville Songwriters Association's '10 Songs I Wish I'd Written,' and my co-writers and I will get to perform the song on the stage of the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville at the awards ceremony in September." Aside from her songs being recorded, Jenn's career has afforded her some amazing opportunities. "I've taken several trips to D.C. to visit with our nation's lawmakers about royalty rates and other issues concerning American songwriters. Plus, there have been countless 'pinch-me' moments, getting to co-write with artists that I've loved and respected for years." Being a professional songwriter isn't an easy path. Jenn hears "no" often, and it takes hard work, resilience, and belief in oneself to make a career of it, but she wouldn't trade a minute of her career for anything else. "I give a lot of credit to Delta Xi for empowering me to dream big and go after big goals. I was elected song chairman of the chapter when I was a sophomore, and I remember feeling very intimidated at the time since I was a young member and unsure of my musical ability."
