More than 250 are employed working in these many com - plex areas. Come and tour the facility and get insights into some novel and very important research being conducted here. Dress in layers of comfortable clothing as some of the tour will be conducted in- side as well as outside. Movements will be taught both as physical and energetic exercises and as methods for improving present moment awareness and mindfulness of subtle percep - tions. although Qigong can be studied for a lifetime, this brief series will give you a taste of the practices and leave you with a set of simple movements you can integrate into your daily routine. nando raynolds, an Ma who has studied and taught t'ai Chi, Karate, Kenpo, es- crima, Qigong, Massage and Contact im- provisation Dance over the last 30 years will lead these sessions over zoom. the class will include social time with other students from other ollis across the na - tion. though the sessions will not be recorded, students will have access to videos on Youtube and an optional DVD. this is an active class and students need to be able to move about comfortably in a home space. Comfortable, loose cloth - ing is recommended. the exercises will challenge and enhance your flexibility, balance, and coordination. *a liability waiver is required for this class due to its active nature. instruCtor: nando raynolds DAy/DAte: tuesdays, 10/25/22 - 11/15/22 (4) time: 11:00 aM - 12:30 PM FormAt: Virtual/online LoCAtion: zoom Cost: $25.00 olli Member $40.00 non-olli Member hiKe At white roCK mountAin (tr onLy) DesCriPtion: experience nature, ad- venture and amazing vistas on this hike along the rim trail at White rock Mountain. rising 2,309 feet above sea level, White rock Moun- tain is the hub of several trail systems offering hundreds of miles of trails to explore. the rim trail is a 1.9 mile loop, that runs along the edge of the mountain top's bluff line, boasting 365 degree views of the ozark national forest. the hike will conclude at sunset shelter, on the west side of the mountain, to take in a pictur - esque sunset! the trip to White rock Mnt. is a stretch so expect a full day of travel. note that the rim trail traverses along steep bluffs and is not for those with a fear of heights. Activity Level 3 instruCtor: Josh raney DAy/DAte: Wednesday, 10/26/22 (1) time: 9:00 aM - 4:00 PM FormAt: in-Person LoCAtion: WrM Cost: $45.00 olli Member $60.00 non-olli Member FALL sPLenDor LAKe tour DesCriPtion: fall is a great time to visit lake fort smith state Park where nature paints the mountains with autumn colors of gold, red and orange. on october 27th or 28th board your transportation or drive your - self to the Visitor Center at lake fort smith. at the Visitor Center, participants will enjoy a narrative video about the history of the lake. at 10:00 a.m. we will board the pontoon boat and experience the wonder of color, topog - raphy and history found only in the Boston Mountains of nWa. Mystina swaim, lake ft. smith's Park in- terpreter, will meet the group at the ma- rina where she will lead participants in a two-hour boating adventure. in addition to the fall foliage, you will see wildlife that inhabits the forest and possibly a waterfall or two. Binoculars and life vests will be provided. (*this activity is depen - dent on weather and lake conditions.) afterwards, the group will travel to the Chester Cafe, where lunch will be on your own. *Meet your transportation at the olli office at 8:30 a.m., ready to leave promptly by 8:45 a.m. Par - ticipants driving themselves may wish to meet at the olli office and follow the transportation group to the site.
