The event starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. AUGUST 20 ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY DIRTY WHISKEY CRAFT COCKTAIL BAR Dirty Whiskey Craft Cocktail Bar is cel- ebrating its one-year anniversary and wants every single one of you who has made them feel so special this past year to come out and celebrate. This birthday-style celebration is free. There will be games, music, desserts and some of your favorite alcohol from the past 365 days! Formal attire is not required, but they want you to dress up for a fun night. Music will be provided by Steady Hand, followed by DJ Alan. The event will kick off at noon and end at 1 a.m. This event is for those 21 and older. FOURTH FRIDAY DOWNTOWN FAYETTEVILLE The Downtown District comes alive with performances every Fourth Fri- day of the month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be a variety of buskers on the streets throughout the District. There will also be various vendors and food carts to enjoy. Explore the vibe in Downtown Fayetteville by visiting over 200+ businesses, restaurants and attractions. There will also be a special recognition of WWII Veterans. This event is open to the public. It will start at 5 p.m. and go to 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be bought at crowncomplexnc.com. FAPS FIELD DAY DIRTBAG ALES Please join Dirtbag Ales, the Greater Fayetteville Apartment Association and the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society for their first annual GFAA FAPS Field Day. Form a team with your favorite 2-legged and 4-legged friends for a day full of fun, fundraising and Dirtbag Ales. Games will include Field Day Games, Dunk Tank, Tug of War, Three-Legged Race, Egg Race and Potato Sack Race. It will be $5 for 3 tickets. Games will vary between 1 ticket or 3. Proceeds will go to the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. AUGUST 27 AUGUST 20 SWEET VALLEY RANCH CONCERT SWEET VALLEY RANCH Enjoy live music at this outdoor event while taking in the sights of Sweet Val- ley Ranch. Country cover band Indian Outlaw with Tim Hair takes the stage at 7 p.m., followed by Jim Quick and the Coastline Band at 8:15 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket. BETTER HEALTH DODGEBALL FREEDOM CHRISTIAN ACADEMY It's time for the seventh annual Better Health's "Diabetes…Dodge It" dodge- ball tournament event. All proceeds from the event go towards diabetes direct aid and other critical programs at the local nonprofit, Better Health. AUGUST 27 AUGUST 24 THE ULTIMATE VARIETY SHOW CAPE FEAR REGIONAL THEATRE Remember all the wonderful variety shows you grew up on in the 70s and 80s? Now is your chance to see them live and re-created by Las Vegas' number one impersonators. Anthony & Eddie Edwards use state-of-the- art make-up to look and sound like today's and yesterday's superstars. Sonny and Cher, Billy Joel, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Lionel Richie and many more. The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $30. SYMPHONY ON TAP BRIGHT LIGHT BREWING CO. Come to Bright Light Brewing Com- pany to hear the awesome Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra's Jazz Quartet perform a fun set while you enjoy great brews. This event will take place at 5:30 p.m. and is free to attend as part of the Symphony on Tap program. AUGUST 28 AUGUST 29 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL CUMBERLAND COUNTY Traditional Cumberland County Schools will start the school year on Monday, Aug. 29. The uniform dress code is being waived this year due to supply chain and uniform availability issues. All students will be expect- ed to wear school-appropriate attire, even if they opt not to wear school uniforms.
