Please don't abuse the free services at Quartzsite transfer station by dumping garbage outside gates when closed. Be sure to thank the staff, too! I am a full-time resident of Quartzsite. When I decided to run for Town Council, it was to do my part to assure that the existing sewer treatment plant was upgraded with available Federal Grant Funds, before they lapsed. The plant had not been upgraded for 25 years. The upgrade was critical for our existing population, and future growth. The effort was successful; the Town Council approved the project, and the im- provements were completed this year. I am the Chair of the La Paz Regional Tourism Team, which is a consortium of all areas of the County, united in promoting tourism for the economic benefit of the region. We produce the "Passport To Adventure" brochure which is distributed widely to Winter Visitors and residents. The "Passport" is a guide to the local towns, points-of- inter- est, and a comprehensive Calendar of Regional Events. It is now in its seventh successful year. I am also involved with promoting off-road- ing in the region, again for the economic benefit of Quartzsite and La Paz County. I have worked closely with Arizona State Parks and Trails staff to develop "Show-Me Rides," seek grants, and promote the Arizona Peace Trail. I was instrumental in obtaining a grant for a fully- equipped off-road vehicle for use by our Police Department. I have a creed of honesty and hard work. It is my goal to continue to work on providing sound leadership and constructive direction for our future growth and well-being. When I was elected, I took an oath to uphold the Federal, State and local laws. I have upheld the above codes in all of my decisions, whether or not the decisions are popular- ly received. I have been, and will continue to be available to the public to discuss any Town issues, and listen to your concerns. I would ap- preciate your vote in the upcoming election so that I can continue to constructively serve you and our community.
