This event will include an interactive story time with author and storyteller Tashonda McCormick of Shon's Stories. Children can choose two free books from a selection of 100 plus age-appropriate books. Kids will also be able to create cool crafts they can bring home. SATURDAY, JULY 16 HOPE MILLS FAMILY FUN DAY HOPE MILLS GOLF COURSE 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Join Hope Mills Prime Movers for Hope Mills Family Fun Day. Bring the family and enjoy fun field day activities, kids zone, free family fun yoga session, vendors, food trucks, a beer garden presented by Dirtbag Ales and a family photo shoot for only $5. They will also hold a school drive bene- fiting local elementary schools in the Hope Mills community. GARDEN GONE WILD CAPE FEAR BOTANICAL GARDEN noon – 5 p.m. Join Cape Fear Botanical Garden on open- ing weekend for an unusual safari with the "Garden Gone Wild" Topiary Exhibit. Eleven topiaries made of living plants will take over the Garden — all of which have never been seen in Fayetteville before. The topiaries are on loan from Frank- lin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio. The topiaries, filled with living materials to resemble various animals and insects, will reside at the Garden through Dec. 31. All the topiaries and planting were imagined, designed, constructed and grown entirely by Franklin Park Horticulture & Exhibitions staff. The Horticulture Staff will maintain the topiaries at Cape Fear Botanical Garden. DIRTBAG ALES FARMERS MARKET DIRTBAG ALES BREWERY 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Dirtbag Ales Farmers Market is a gathering place where local farmers and producers can connect with their com- munity and share their passions. Join Dirtbag Ales for live music, local vendors, food trucks, yoga and craft brews. They welcome everyone of all ages and back- grounds and encourage them to connect with the community that they call home. SUNDAY, JULY 17 THURSDAY, JULY 14 "PERICLES" OPENING NIGHT 321 ARCH ST. 6:45 p.m. "Pericles" is an extraordinary and epic tale of hope and love. Sail the seas as Pericles faces off against an evil, adulterous king, fights off the best of the best to win the love of his life, and wrecks every ship he puts his feet on. Join Sweet Tea Shakespeare for the thrilling story of a young prince finding his way in the ancient Mediterranean. Sweet Tea Shakespeare plays provide an interactive play-going experience with live music before every show starting at 6:45 p.m. Most shows feature an array of snacking and drinking options, some of which may constitute a light meal. Food, signature sweet tea, craft beer, wine and seasonal cocktails are available. Outside food and drink are not permitted unless otherwise noted. For additional information, ticket prices and showtimes, visit sweetteashakespeare.com. 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. SUNDAY, JULY 17 SATURDAY, JULY 16 CHRISTMAS IN JULY TOY RUN FORT BRAGG HARLEY-DAVIDSON 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Fort Bragg Harley-Davidson is hosting its 20th annual Christmas in July toy run. The event will include a ride to Jones Lake State Park and a return ride to the Fort Bragg Harley-Davidson. It is a rain or shine event. The cost of entry is $20 and an unwrapped toy. All registered par- ticipants will receive a free t-shirt and lunch and there will be raffles and prizes. Anyone not participating in the ride can still donate by bringing an unwrapped toy to the Fort Bragg Harley-Davidson. All Proceeds will be donated to the Duke Children's Hospital and the Children's Miracle Network. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the ride begins at 10 a.m. A pre-registration party for this event is being held July 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Legends Pub. Legends Pub is located at 4624 Bragg Blvd. #1 and Fort Bragg Harley-Davidson is located at 3950 Sycamore Dairy Road. MUGGLES & MIMOSAS BRUNCH WOB BAR & KITCHEN 11 a.m. Calling all Muggles! This Harry Potter- themed brunch is going to be a Sirius-ly good time! World of Beer is hosting a magical brunch complete with Butterbeer, Golden Snitch Donuts, Potter's Pan- cakes and more. This brunch is first come, first serve. Dressing up is encouraged. SATURDAY, JULY 16 FRIDAY, JULY 15 ALL IN FOR KIDS COMEDY SHOW SEGRA STADIUM 7:30 p.m. Communities In Schools of Cumberland County invites everyone to enjoy laughs, food and fun in support of local students at the All In For Kids Comedy Show. The show will feature North Carolina's funniest comedian, J. Bliss. Guests will be seated on the Landing Deck with access to Healy's Right Field Bar. One complimentary drink and heavy hors d'oeurves will be provided. The show is for those 21 years old and older. Osborn loves connecting with her audiences through stories and songs.She is currently recording Skirts in the Snow: Beyond the Tragedy of the Donner Party, teaches music and is president of the NC Songwriters Co-op.
