Fayetteville Technical Community College can help on this career path. Companies use data to make all kinds of decisions — how to target customers, where to invest, assess risks, allocate spending and more. Being a data analyst is one of the most in-demand jobs in 2022. is is because any company that uses data in decision-making needs analysts to study and interpret that information. Data analysts are found everywhere in corporate America, from healthcare to retail, from investment banking to marketing. e average salary for a data analyst in the United States is $62,382, accord- ing to Glassdoor, the job-listing site. Job titles for data analysts include business analyst, business intelligence analyst and research analyst, among others. Starting this fall, the Computer Programming and Development Department at FTCC will offer classes in Business Analytics. ese courses are designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to analyze data and make data-driven decisions. Upon completion, students will be equipped to pursue a career as a data analysts. No prior knowledge of statistics is required to enroll in the Business Analytics program. Students in the program will learn how to analyze data, develop insights from information and leverage data to make data-driven decisions. Upon completion, students will be proficient in Excel, Tableau and SAS. Furthermore, students may sit for the SAS Base Programming Specialist certification. e credits from Business Analyt- ics courses can be used in either the Computer Programming area or Busi- ness Administration area. For more convenience and flex- ibility for students who cannot attend face-to-face classes, the Computer Programming and Development de- partment will offer the courses online. In addition to the Business Analyt- ics classes, FTCC offers a broad range of programs leading to the award of associate degrees, certificates and diplomas. Many educational choices are avail- able in computer and information technology, where graduates can seek employment as designers, developers, testers, support technicians, system administrators and programmers. Specialty areas include business intelligence, database services, health- care informatics, security and more.
