A lthough commonly known as "House Corporation," Phi Epsilon Phi is responsible for much more than property management. Our mission is twofold: to promote the success of the active chapter and to cultivate lifelong brotherhood amongst Delta Psi alumni. We serve this mission best with a diverse board of passionate alumni. This year, three seats on our seven-member board are up for election. We are looking to recruit new brothers to the board this year. We'd love to see some representation from the '90s and '00s, although all alumni are welcome! The election will take place on August 23, and we intend to email the ballot in early July. Ready to run? Want to learn more? Email me at kenneth.sobel@gmail.com! Now taking place on October 8, 2022 (coinciding with RPI's Reunion and Homecoming), we are ready to celebrate the 70(ish) Anniversary! A concrete agenda will be sent out prior to the event, but you can look forward to: • Saturday morning mock initiation at the old Troy Masonic Temple. • Optional White Rose Ceremony led by our very own Bob "Ruff" Hutnick '71. • An open house with a tasty lunch prepared by our in-house chef. • A three-course dinner with cash bar at Franklin Terrace. Tickets for the festivities are $95 per person and can be purchased through the emailed link. If you didn't get this email, please reach out and I'll send you a copy. Make your hotel reservations soon since things are sure to be crowded with the RPI reunion. We'll send out periodic notifications of who's registered to let you know who you can expect to see there! In hoc, Colin Haynes '10 veteran011@gmail.com RPI'S ARCH PROGRAM REDEFINES THE JUNIOR EXPERIENCE I n 2018, RPI instituted the Arch Program, a mandatory program which remakes the junior year schedule to accommodate a three-month internship for every student. Under the program, every student must take 16 credits during the summer aer sophomore year. en, students must spend the following fall or spring semester away from school to complete an internship. e brothers of the Delta Psi Chapter have reflected both positive and negative opinions about the Arch program. It's been nice to take summer classes in the beautiful weather, and the pro- gram has provided brothers with valuable internship experience. But the Arch Program has had negative ramifications on the chapter's finances. RPI does not permit summer term students to live in Greek houses. At any given time during the regular academic year, only half of our juniors are in school and able to live in the house. When our active membership was larger, this was less impactful. However, due to the current size of the chapter and the large senior class graduating this spring, the program will take away a considerable portion of the chapter's income. As we come out of COVID-19 and the interim suspension and the chapter continues to grow its membership, the impact should lessen. In hoc, Winston Yu '21 winstonyzyu@gmail.com The 70(ish) Anniversary Is Finally Happening! WE HAVE A NEW GREEK DEAN — FINALLY! A fter leaving the three positions in the Office of Greek Life Commons vacant for over three years, RPI finally posted for and hired the Associate Dean for the Fraternity and Sorority Life Commons at the end of summer 2021. Students and alumni participated in the interview process, and everyone's top choice, Ethan M. Stubbs II, became the Commons top- level staff member. Dean Stubbs comes to RPI with over fifteen years of experience in the fraternity and sorority environment. Among his many accomplishments, he served the TKE Fraternity for five years as their national Assistant Director of Chapter Services and has worked at the University of Kentucky, George Washington University, and the University of Kansas. His wealth of knowledge and experience has already improved the mood in our Greek community. Dean Stubbs has developed a terrific relationship with the students and alumni involved in fraternity matters. His ideas for new programs and better accountability have been embraced by the Associate Vice President for Student Life, providing a great deal of independence for the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Commons. Dean Stubbs has worked diligently to champion a review of the rights and responsibilities for Greek-letter chapters and has already made an impact on instituting educational and rehabilitative penalties rather than aggressively punitive measures for chapters who break RPI rules. We look forward to a great working relationship! In hoc, Robert "Justa" Eckart '73 bobeckart@gmail.com
