A presentation and panel discussion on the Iranian Hostage Crisis and Operation EAGLE CLAW will be held in two sessions and followed by a question-and-answer with former hostages and members of the mission. THURSDAY, APRIL 21 ALPHA TANGO ROMEO CAPE FEAR STUDIOS 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. The Alpha Romeo Tango exhibit will honor military and their families. Stop by the ope- ning reception to meet artists, get to know the studio, and enjoy food and drinks. Voting for the People's Choice Awards begins at 11 a.m. Awards will be announ- ced by Rep. John Szoka at 7 p.m. SATURDAY, APRIL 23 APRIL FAMILY WORKDAY RICK'S PLACE 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. This family work day will be a day of getting your hands dirty while working on a few property projects around Rick's Place. There will be team-building activities following the tasks. It will be a great event to get out of the house, bond with the family, create memories, get some laughs and do some good for the community. Lunch will be provided. Registration is required. A fee of $25 per person includes container, soil, plants and natural materials. Participants receive 15% off any additional items purchased, either for their fairy garden or otherwise on the day of the workshop. Space is limited and pre-registration is re- quired for this event. EARTH DAY AT THE MARKET DIRTBAG ALES 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Start the day off for a street clean-up of Corporation Drive at 9 a.m. Afterward, en- joy the Market at Dirtbag Ales by shopping around at different vendors that sell plants, plant-based, and reusable products. If you have a plant that needs some love and attention, bring it to the rehab table to give that plant some extra TLC. All volunteers for the early morning clean-up will receive a Dirtbag koozie and a prize. SUNDAY, APRIL 24 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. SATURDAY, APRIL 23 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. "Time after Time" do you find yourself "Hungry Like the Wolf?" "Sweet Dreams" are made of this 80s Music Bingo event. The Fayetteville Pie Company offers pie-lovers of all ages a mix of individual sweet and savory pies and larger special occasion or preorder pies. CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE FORUM FAYETTEVILLE TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Candidates for mayor and districts 1, 4, 5, 7 and 8 will be offered the chance to answer questions from a panel and the audience. The forums are free to the public and scheduled for 6 p.m. in Cumberland Hall on the Fayetteville Technical Community College campus, off Hull Road in Fayetteville. Candidates who filed for mayor and council seats with the Cumberland County Board of Elections will be invited to participate. TUESDAY, APRIL 26 THURSDAY, APRIL 21 YOGA IN THE GARDEN CAPE FEAR BOTANICAL GARDEN 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Spend your Thursday evening taking yoga classes at Cape Fear Botanical Garden. A registered Yoga teacher will guide you through a sequence of poses. Classes are free for garden members and $10 for non-members. Pre-register at the Gift Shop or call 910-486-0221, Extension 36. FRIDAY, APRIL 22 80'S MUSIC BINGO FAYETTEVILLE PIE COMPANY 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. The 38th Annual #Crimestoppers Benefit BBQ Plate Sale will be at Harris Teeter, 2800 Raeford Road. Proceeds benefit CrimeStoppers. Crimestoppers helps law enforcement bring criminals to justice. Each plate is a $10 donation and comes with BBQ, potato salad, coleslaw and a dinner roll.
