National acts Hoobastank and Marcy Play- ground will headline an evening of rock. Marcy Playground, best known for their 1997 hit "Sex and Candy," emerged in the late 1990s. The al- ternative rock band is comprised of three members, John Wozniak on lead vocals and guitar, Dylan Keefe on the bass and Shlomi Lavie on the drums. Their most recent album is their 2012 album "Mr. Fisher." Hoobastank formed in 1994 in California. The four-member band has been categorized as nu metal, hard rock, alternative rock and post- grunge. They have sold ten million albums world wide and are best known for their hit single "The Rea- son." Their newest album is Push Pull released in 2018. The evening will be capped off with Boom & Bloom! This booming fireworks show will take place as Hoobastank's performance ends. The fire- works will be shot from behind the Festival Park stage and will be viewable to the general public at Festival Park. The Midway is back, better than ever and will be open Friday and run all weekend long. The Midway is located on the corner of Mason Street and Ray Avenue, in the Masonic Lodge parking lot. Cork & Fork The 40th Annual Fayetteville Dogwood Fes- tival is set to open with Cork & Fork, a signa- ture event. Small bites will be served by local chefs while attendees enjoy a glass of wine, food and friends. The Dogwood Festival is partnering with the United Way of Cumberland County. A silent auction will be held during the event to support the organiza- tion. Cork & Fork will be held at Festival Park located at 335 Ray Avenue, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets cost $40 per person and $75 per couple. Tickets will not be available on site.
