This year, six of these beauties will be making their way from their historic barn in Yukon, Oklahoma to the Benton County Fair. "I respect and admire these gentle giants and enjoy seeing kids' sense of awe when they are up close to these majestic animals," says Bob Funk. This is the first appearance at the Fair for the Clydesdales, weighing in at 2,000 pounds each. They stand between 18 and 19 hands high and eat about 12 pounds of grain and 15 pounds of hay each day. Each horse wears a handcrafted English leather show harness, weighing around 180 pounds per horse and costing an average of $10,000 per horse. Express Clydesdales have won multiple National and World Championship titles through the years in both the Six-Horse Hitch and Eight-Horse Hitch competitions.
