April 10 - 16, 2022 BY RAYE SMITH TV Media WHAT'S NEW ON HULU "The Kardashians" - Season 1 After 14 years on air and 20 sea- sons, the massive reality hit that was "Keeping Up With the Kar- dashians" came to an end in 2021. But fans of the show won't have to wait long to get their next Kar-Jenner fix: The famous family's all-new reality series, "The Kardashians," premieres its first season on Hulu Thurs- day, April 14. While family mem- bers and production teams have kept the details of the new se- ries a well-guarded secret, "The Kardashians" is being heralded as an intimate journey into the next chapter of their lives. "You'll see us evolving as a fami- ly, fans want us to be who we are and since moment one, they've been emotionally invested in our show just like we are," mo- mager extraordinaire Kris Jen- ner said in a presentation about the show at Disney Upfronts. "The fans will love seeing us continue the journey. I can't say much about what's coming, but spoiler: we're going to look fab- ulous and everyone's going to watch." With evolving business- es, growing families and end- lessly intriguing personalities, mom Kris and daughters Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie have tons to catch audi- ences up on as this new chapter in their lives takes off. And for those who want to catch up on all things Kardashian before the new show premieres, past sea- sons of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" are also available to stream on Hulu. Settled in the hands of showrunner Danielle King ("Million Dollar Listing New York"), the series is execu- tive produced by "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" creator Ryan Seacrest. WHAT'S NEW ON NETFLIX "Anatomy of a Scandal" - Season 1 Dive into the sordid affairs of Britain's elite in the new psycho- logical thriller anthology series "Anatomy of a Scandal," stream- ing on Netflix Friday, April 15. Based on the novel of the same name by British writer and jour- nalist Sarah Vaughn, the six-epi- sode season is a gripping court- room drama about a sexual-con- sent scandal, delving into the personal and political lives of Britain's richest and most pow- erful citizens while exploring "where the truth lies between justice and privilege" (per Netf- lix). Rupert Friend ("The Death of Stalin," 2017) stars as Minister of Parliament James White- house, who lives a blissful life in a privileged world with his wife, Sophie (Sienna Miller, "Ameri- can Sniper," 2014), and their fam- ily until a scandalous secret sud- denly comes to light and unrav- els their whole lives. From cre- ators, writers and executive pro- ducers David E. Kelley ("Big Lit- tle Lies") and Melissa James Gibson ("House of Cards"), the series is directed by S.J. Clarkson ("The Defenders"). Michelle Dockery ("Downton Abbey"), Ben Radcliffe ("Pandora"), Nao- mi Scott ("Aladdin," 2019), Jo- sette Simon ("Wonder Woman," 2017), Jonathan Coy ("The Scar- let Pimpernel"), Violet Verigo ("New Skool Life"), Rita Mc- Donald Damper ("London Fields," 2018) and new talent Kudzai Sitima also star in the se- ries. WHAT'S NEW ON DISNEY+ "Ice Age: Scrat Tales" The snow may be thawing as spring begins, but the ice age continues in the new Disney+ series "Ice Age: Scrat Tales," pre- miering Wednesday, April 13, on the platform. A six-episode miniseries featuring a new ani- mated short in each episode, "Scrat Tales" follows the adven- tures of the Ice Age franchise's hapless and lovable sabre- toothed squirrel, Scrat (voiced by Chris Wedge, "Ice Age," 2002), as he experiences the ups and downs of fatherhood with his adorable and mischievous child, Baby Scrat (Kari Wahl- gren, "Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness"). As the pair bond with each other, they also battle for ownership of the high- ly treasured acorn, creating mayhem along the way. Featur- ing a story and direction by pro- ducer Donnie Long ("Home on the Range," 2004), "Scrat Tales" is also produced by Anthony Nisi ("Spies in Disguise," 2019) and executive produced by Wedge and Robert L. Baird ("Big Hero 6," 2014). WHAT'S NEW ON APPLE TV+ "It's the Small Things, Char- lie Brown" (2022) The Peanuts gang is back for an- other holiday adventure in the new special "It's the Small Things, Charlie Brown," avail- able to stream on Apple TV+ Friday, April 15. This time, Char- lie Brown, Linus, Snoopy, Lucy and the rest of their friends gath- er together for a special Earth Day adventure. Using the classic Peanuts animation style and car- toon comedy, the kids (and ani- mals) face a brand-new adven- ture as they work together to overcome new obstacles in their way. While they grow, they learn together and explore all the amazing things — big and small — that Earth has to offer. From Canadian family media compa- ny WildBrain, "It's the Small Things, Charlie Brown" is pro- duced in association with Apple TV+. WHAT'S NEW ON PRIME "Outer Range" - Season 1 Uncover a terrifying mystery in the new Prime original thriller series "Outer Range," premier- ing on the Amazon streaming platform Friday, April 15. Josh Brolin ("No Country for Old Men," 2007) stars in the series as family patriarch Royal Abbott, a Wyoming rancher. While the Abbott family is reeling from the disappearance of their daughter- in-law, they are forced for fight for their ranch when the neigh- boring Tillerson family makes a play for their land. In the midst of a property war and while try- ing to keep his family together, Royal uncovers an unbelievable, supernatural mystery on the edge of Wyoming's wilderness. Created and written by new tal- ent Brian Watkins, "Outer Range" is directed by Jennifer Getzinger ("Mad Men"), Alonso Ruizpalacios ("Gueros"), Amy Seimetz ("Alien: Covenant," 2017) and Lawrence Trilling ("Alias").
