He is most grateful for the skills he was able to grow, such as the ability to communicate during the phases of his adult life. "The time I had and enjoyed at Oklahoma Alpha introduced me to my future wife and prepared me for my future profession," Alfred said. "At my mature age, I want to thank SigEp for many successful fraternity accomplishments." During his time as an active brother, Alfred helped build social responsibilities with his brothers and peers. He has been able to set several goals for his life and has been happy to see his dreams come to fruition. The Road to Becoming a Balanced Man Alfred Green '47 Shares Why He's Excited to Celebrate Oklahoma Alpha's 100th Anniversary M ark your calendar and get registered for our biggest celebration ever! We will celebrate our history and successes in late February at the Alumni Center and at our state-of-the-art chapter house. As you are aware, we rescheduled our centennial celebration after the state of Oklahoma had a surge in COVID cases in September. The gala will be on Friday, February 25, at 6:30 p.m., with the dress being business casual. The Alumni and Volunteer Corporation (AVC) will host the event in the ConocoPhillps Alumni Center. The cocktail hour will lead off the evening, followed by a dinner and a band. During the meal, we will celebrate our alumni and undergraduate chapter. This will be a great opportunity to catch up with your brothers and share your memories. On the collegiate side, you can be very proud of our younger brothers. They are consistently among the top OSU chapters in grades every semester, averaging around 3.4 with a 165-man chapter. Additionally, for the sixth time in seven Conclaves, the men won the most prestigious award given by our national fraternity: the Buchanan Cup. On Saturday, February 26, we will host a brunch at the chapter house and honor Kay Robinson, Dr. Robert Breedlove '69, and Alfred Green '47. The undergraduates will give house tours, and for those who haven't seen the changes to the Greek community in recent years, the men will give tours around the neighborhood. We will hold a ritual in the Student Union Little Theatre at 2 p.m., which is the very spot where our founding fathers met to start our chapter. By the way, we have been approved to place a plaque in this area to keep this history remembered. Register online at okstatesigep100year.com or by scanning the QR Code below. I look forward to seeing you there! Fraternally, Todd Donavan '86, AVC President todd.donavan@business.colostate.edu (Continued on page 4) Some of the awards to be given out at our centennial include: • Distinguished Alumnus • Oldest Attending Alumnus • Youngest Attending Member • Biggest OSU Fan • Most Philanthropic We will be asking for nominations for some of these awards on Facebook. Please submit names once we announce the requests to our page at www.facebook.com/groups/261766827208953.
