T he undergraduate chapter had a great time competing in the 100th celebration of the "Greatest Homecoming in America!" In honor of a century of Homecomings, each fraternity and sorority pairing got to choose a specific year from the past 100 years and tie this theme to their work. Our group chose 1975: the year that Wheel of Fortune first aired on television, that Eskimo Joe's first opened its doors, and that Terry Miller had his breakout season on the gridiron by rushing for over 1,000 yards. Our undergraduates worked with the ladies of Kappa Alpha Theta in this year's annual tradition. In doing so, they did quite well in the competition. Here are their achievements: • Second place in House Deck • Love's Fan Favorite Harvest Festival Game • Engineering Excellence Award • Safety Award As you can see from the photos, the men did an outstanding job with the house deck and sign. We even received some love from Eskimo Joe's as they brought over free food to the chapter for including Joe's in their theme! Additionally, as shown in the second picture on the bottom row, Terry Miller made an appearance to get a picture with his likeness at our chapter house. Homecoming 2021 T his year, Brother Leon J. McDonald Jr. '48, better known as simply "T. Bone," was inducted into the Oklahoma State University Greek Life Hall of Fame. While T. Bone is no longer with us, we're sure he would have been honored to receive this award. In fact, he probably would have said, "It's about time!" Many of us had the pleasure of knowing T. Bone McDonald as a constant figure around the Oklahoma Alpha Chapter on football weekends and alumni board meetings. He spent 69 years on our alumni board serving as chapter counselor, president, property manager, treasurer, and in many other roles over several decades. T. Bone was on the Tulsa and Oklahoma City University alumni boards, when those chapters were open, while serving on the OU AVC in the '50s, '70s, and '80s. Cumulatively, he spent over 110 years on SigEp alumni boards. T. Bone is among the longest (if not the longest) serving Greek advisor known by our chapter historians. We wish he could have seen this day, as he passed in 2014 at the age of 91. The funeral parlor needed overflow due to the SigEp brothers who showed that day. T. Bone was a national volunteer. In national leadership training, he was known for taking complex concepts and distilling it to simple terms—influenced by his salesman career. While T. Bone traveled greatly in the 1970s, he was a semi-permanent fixture when our chapter moved out of the current ATO house. For many brothers, he was the first alumnus they would meet, offering a large handshake and asking, "Where do you hail from, stud?" When you named your hometown in Arkansas, Texas, or Oklahoma, he would list off people he knew from your hometown, how much product he had sold there, or the best facts he knew about that area. His presence is what helped hundreds of freshman feel like they were right at home. The chapter named our golf tournament after him while he was still around. Oklahoma Alpha is now in our 14th year of holding the T. Bone McDonald Golf Classic, which has raised thousands of dollars for undergraduate scholarships, even to the consternation of many fine golf courses in Oklahoma. The 15th annual T. Bone McDonald Golf Classic will be held in Tulsa in 2022. Be on the lookout for information to register in the spring. Fraternally, Todd Donavan '86 Aaron Cromer '16 SigEp Alumnus Inducted into the OSU Greek Life Hall of Fame Honoring T. Bone McDonald '48
