3 BETA THETA PI AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY B eta Mu Chapter of Beta eta Pi is thrilled to be back in full swing. Since our last newsletter, our brothers enjoyed a long, and well-deserved, summer breakāI suppose that's if you would define the pursuit of intellectual growth a break at all! Many brothers accepted internships, traveling to San Francisco, Chicago, and Manhattan, on a mission to further their careers. Some companies that members interned with include Ernst & Young, Canadian National Railway, G&W Electric, and Deloitte Consulting. We are very proud of our brothers taking commendable leaps in their life, careers, and futures. On a sadder note, we parted ways with our seniors who graduated in 2021. For many current members, this was the class that welcomed us into the brotherhood, acclimated us with the collegiate experience, and provided us a sense of community. ey forged a path outlined by our five core values: intellect, responsibility, mutual assistance, integrity, and trust. May the lessons they taught remain with us long past our time at Purdue, and may their futures be fulfilling! With some members graduating, we welcomed a total of 32 men into our brotherhood this fall. Our recruitment process took place the first two weeks of the semester; we are thrilled to bid new members coming to us from across the United States. On October 22, we held our second annual Buzz-a-Beta philanthropy where over 50 brothers shaved their heads in support of cancer research. While raising money for the Tyler Trent Cancer Research Endowment, we greatly surpassed our fundraising goal and ended up with over $90,000 in donations throughout the course of two weeks. We hope to keep this annual philanthropy a long-lasting tradition for the Beta Mu chapter. When we are not spending our time watching athletics, we are participating in them. On Saturday, September 18, we participated in the first Beta Tennisball Tournament (a version of soball played with a tennis ball). Its popularity has spread like wildfire throughout Beta. Additionally, we have teams entered in every intramural sport available to us at this time, including two flag football teams, two sand volleyball teams, two court volleyball teams, two soccer teams, and several individuals registered to bowling teams. e brotherhood among Beta eta Pi remains strong. We are ecstatic to see where the future takes us. May Wooglin keep your spirits high and your loads light.
