Boys & Girls Club Receives Print Donation For Annual Auction & Car Raffle OF CLEVELAND COUNTY For the fourth year in a row, local artist Phillip Philbeck and Tracy Stillwell of Victorian Rose Studio are donating a signed framed print to be auctioned off at the Boys & Girls Club's 39th Annual Car Raffle and Auction. The event will be held Friday, June 21 in Goforth Hall at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. The donation is in memory and honor of Elwyn Stillwell, former owner of the Victorian Rose Studio, who passed away in 2010. Over the past three years the framed prints have raised at least $600 annually. The funds provide sponsorship a child at the Cleveland County Boys & Girls Club for an entire year. Provided by Jack Weller - Photo Victorian Rose Crest FFA's "Goat Tenders" Matt Harris graduated from Chase High School in 1994, then became a student at NC State and received a BS in Agriculture & Extension Education, graduating cum laude in 1999. He then obtained his Masters Degree from NC State in 2001. Matt was named Southwest NCATA Regional Teacher of the Year in 2009 and 2011 and Cleveland County Schools Teacher of the Year in 2010 and 2011. He loves what he does and his FFA students love him. The present FFA program at Crest High School is all about goats. Their herd consist of nineteen currently and more are on the way. This program requires a tremendous amount of dedication year round, because the goats must be tended to three times daily. Matt says his job is to teach his students responsibility, new skills and give them lots of self esteem. This Crest FFA program is obviously one of the best.
