When applying to FTCC, future students are provided with information about where and how to apply for disability services. It is the student's responsibility to follow a simple step-by- step process to renew accommodations for each semester. e appropriate documents to receive and to maintain academic accommodations consist of a valid medical evaluation that must come from a li- censed psychological or medical provider within the last five years. If students cannot provide required medical information, some temporary services may be determined and arranged on a case-by-case basis. ose receiving services provided by the DSSO should have no concern about their data being vulnerable to public exposure as the department responsibly guarantees secure, ethical and legal protocols for protecting students' welfare. Students' medical information is protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and is considered confidential.
