5 B eta Zeta has been very successful since moving back into the chapter house. Over the past two semesters, the colony achieved above a 3.0 GPA. What's more we ranked 11th out of 42 IFC member fraternities last semester with a 3.52 GPA. is is due in large part to the dedication and hard work of Scholarship Chairman Ross Carter and removing candidates with subpar grades. Former Philanthropy Chairman Isaak Leeke put together a philanthropy event in the fall 2019 semester where we raised more than $1,000 for the Special Olympics. Having the chapter house to host events like that has been greatly beneficial. With COVID-19 still a pressing issue, we worked hard to turn our formal recruitment period into a virtual format. Lieutenant Commander Nate Sislow revamped our chapter website, purduesigmanu.org, to help showcase Beta Zeta prior to recruitment. Nate, Ross, and I created a video on our website that explains what Greek life is like here at Purdue and the challenges of common stereotypes portrayed in the media. We also released an incoming freshman scholarship site for students attending Purdue this fall, with links to our video, website, COVID-19 policy, and to informational Q&A sessions that we had with potential new members and their parents. We used social media to reach out to potential new members and get to know them virtually to ensure safe recruitment practices. We put a large emphasis on recruitment heading into this semester, holding more LEAD sessions, and improving every aspect of the fraternity based on petition feedback from earlier this year. We aim to become an even better colony during the fall semester and are excited to submit the petition to charter in early 2021.
