SILVER DOLLAR CITY The 2020 Harvest Festival, slotted for September 23-October 31, promises to be even more grand than its inaugural year in 2019. During the day, view master craftsmen displaying their talents, and when the sun goes down hand-carved, illuminated Pumpkin Night celebrations begin. In addition to the normal park favorites like thrilling roller coasters, tasty treats and engaging live shows, guests will enjoy creative genius and crafted excellence at the changing of the season. Come early in the day to enjoy Craft Days where you can stroll the park and watch talented artisans demonstrate their work. Each week of the festival will bring a fresh group of artisans, making each of your fall visits to the park unique. VETERANS HOMECOMING WEEK From November 5-11 each year, Branson hosts an annual celebration to revere and remember the brave men and women who served our nation. The town is known as one of the most veteran-friendly, patriotic cities in America. Although Branson honors Veterans every day of the year, Veterans Homecoming Week is a special time for servicemembers and their families. There are many different occasions and events planned for veterans and their families to be part of including mini reunions, memorials, a military ball and the Veteran's Day Parade. BRANSONBULLETIN BRANSONBULLETIN WONDERWORKS Homeschool Days – WonderWorks Branson is launching their Homeschool Day event this fall, which will run every weekday, September through November, while school is in session. Homeschool families will receive a reduced admission price of $12 per person, or $10 per person for groups that book ahead of time. Homeschool Days offer homeschool families an exciting way to give their students a hands-on learning experience, meant to supplement and enhance their learning programs. THE BEST OF BRANSON Not all adventures require the physical experience of a roller coaster or a Ferris wheel. FlyRide, Branson's newest attraction, offers a bird's eye view of more than 20 iconic locations from the comfort of a theater seat. "It is more than a movie," says spokeswoman Tracey Barton. "It's an immersive experience with a four-story-high curved screen, full motion seats that dip, turn and soar and amazing effects that give the guests the feeling of flight." FlyRide is the first of its kind in this part of the country. "This has been an evolution of creative thinking that has allowed us to adopt the latest in technology and combine it with entertainment for 'techno-tainment,'" says Barton. "We want our guests to always have an interactive, immersive experience. Being on the forefront of technology, we are continually developing new concepts like FlyRide. "With the development trends happening in Branson, we felt FlyRide would be a perfect addition to the attraction-based entertainment that has seen significant growth in recent years," she adds. "We will continue to expand in tourist markets that embrace attractions as an entertainment option for their visitors." Up to 40 guests can experience FlyRide at the same time, no virtual reality equipment required. And as they zoom over Yellowstone, the Redwood Forest, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Mount Rushmore and more, technology adds the experience of wind, mists and "other amazing effects," Barton says. With an investment of more than five years and more than $8 million, it seems fair that its developers bill FlyRide as "a world-class attraction." You can experience FlyRide inside Beyond The Lens Family Fun located at 3115 West 76 Country Blvd in Branson. They open daily at 10am and you can reach them by calling 417-337-9333 or visit their website at flyridetickets.com for pricing. There are no age or health restrictions but they do have a 32" height restriction and a 300 pound weight restriction. Take Flight Across America! 48 WHAT'S UP! SEPTEMBER 13-19, 2020
