It is my pleasure to greet you at this moment in time and congratulate you
on completing an impor tant phase of your journey. You are a HS graduate.
Like those before you, I must remind you not to remain idle too long. This is
the beginning and there is much more for you to accomplish. However, unlike
those who preceded you, you must tread more carefully, for social distancing is
the trend of the day and as you know COVID -19 is not to be taken lightly.
Like an uninvited guest to a private par ty this pandemic has burst through
the door, raised havoc and ravished your senior year. However, it did not
steal it. It's your year, your journey and your oppor tunity to do what no other
class in recent histor y has had to do. Yes, oppor tunity! Oppor tunity to rebuild,
rediscover and/or establish a new normal. You, the Class of 2020, like Lewis
and Clark have an oppor tunity to explore and map this era in our histor y for
the nex t generation. I like Jefferson charge you to do so, to persevere and
overcome the obstacles COVID-19 presents. Be mindful, you are the masters of your destiny. Thus, let nothing
discourage you from a prosperous journey. Always remember the quick fix is rarely the best solution. Travel
