Traditions that you, your families, and your communities have been anticipating for four long years are now in limbo. There is no one to blame for this situation. However, l would like to be one of the first to apologize for such an unfor tunate turn of events. As a parent myself, I know the day of your graduation is an anticipation like no other. Many of you were thinking, I finally get a chance to walk across the stage that will star t a new chapter in my life. But, I'm here to say that instead of being sad, remember tomorrow is always a new day. When someone give you lemons, make lemonade and find the joy that comes from adversity. One day, you will look back on your high school years and have a ver y exciting stor y to tell your children. Do you know how lucky you are to be a par t of histor y? Maybe not the histor y that you envisioned, but histor y none the less. Not all students will be so lucky, to say the least. In closing, I want you to know that Cumberland County Schools are continuing to work each day to ensure that you have the graduation that you deser ve. As a school, the faculty and staff of Alger B Wilkins High School knows how hard you have worked and we share so much pride in ever ything you have already accomplished. After you graduate - and you will graduate - you will move on to be leaders in your collegiate, militar y and professional/personal lives.
