April 17, 2013 AIMS testing & QES updates Music Jams beginning again April 15th through April 26th is AIMS Testing for Quartzsite Elementary School (QES) students. Parents, please remember to get your children to school on time, make sure they get plenty of rest, and eat regular meals. This is important for their testing skills. Remember School Starts at 8:10am On Saturday, April 20th, the PTA will hold a Car Wash at the Shell Station beginning at 9am and ending when it slows down. On April 26th Soda Floats sales will take place after lunch times Quartzsite Community Bible Church will begin holding Music Jams again on Tuesdays beginning April 23rd. Bullying awareness classes for parents Every Wednesday 17th, 24th in April and May1st, 8th , 15th LaPaz County Health and Prevention will be holding Bullying & Harassment Self-Esteem, Drugs, etc classes in the school gym for our parents of 5th through 8th graders. Please call 928-669-1062 to arrange transportation, attend classes, and /or daycare. Dinner will be provided. Quartzsite Transit Services Available to our elderly, elderly disabled and disabled populations Our hours of operation are 8:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Pickups will begin at 8:20am; scheduling may be done two weeks in advance. An adult must accompany riders under 10 years of age. It is an expression of citizen preferences for their community, a statement of Town policy with long-term perspective, and a blueprint for maintaining and improving quality of life in Quartzsite. The General Plan establishes the basis for land use regulations, provides residents with an opportunity to participate in the long-term planning of the city, and informs residents, developers and decision makers how to guide development. The goals and policies are implemented through recommendations from citizens, town boards and commissions, and decisions made by Town Council. The following tentative schedule is being submitted to Planning & Zoning (P & Z) Commission for approval Tues. April 16th. The General Plan must be ratified by the voters. Arizona legislature extended the deadline to July 1, 2015.
