The route is still to be determined. The mission of the Law Enforce- ment Torch Run® (LETR) is to raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement. Close to 97,000 police professionals in over 45 countries participate in this worldwide effort to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics. If you are interested in purchas- ing a shirt please come by the po- lice department before MARCH 15th. You can place your order for a shirt there. Shirts are $20 for short sleeve and $25 for long sleeve. QPD will be ordering a limited quantity of shirts. Alternating lane restric- tions scheduled on US 95 near Quartzsite beginning Mar. 2 Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time The Arizona Department of Trans- portation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on US 95 near Quartzsite beginning early March. Maintenance crews are scheduled to do crack seal application work south of Quartzsite. The work is part of multiple pavement preserva- tion projects on highways across the state. The following restrictions will oc- cur from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Monday, Mar. 2, and ending Friday, Mar. 6, and then resume on Mon- day, Mar. 9, and ending on Wednes- day, Mar. 11. • Alternating lane closures will oc- cur on northbound and southbound US 95 between milepost 80 and La Posa South Long Term Visitor Area (milepost 95.6). • Flaggers and a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone, • The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph. • A 16-foot vehicle width restric- tion will be in place.
