Christmas in the Park Until Dec. 22 Christmas in the Park, celebrated annually at Arnette Park, will be held this year until Dec.22 from 6 to 9 p.m. Arnette Park is located at 2165 Wilmington Hwy., accessed from exit 100 off Hwy. 87/MLK Expressway. Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation invites the public to bring family and friends for a leisurely stroll on a ½ mile paved walking trail while taking in the sights and sounds of the holiday season. Guest will enjoy entertainment provided by local artists, roast marshmallows at the fire pit and get creative at the craft station. To ensure an enjoyable experience for all visitors, only Service Animals will be allowed on the grounds during the event. The public can also relax and watch favorite holiday movies on the outdoor movie screen, take a ride on the Christmas Express train and visit with Santa! Prices for the event include: • Admission: $10 per family vehicle, $30 per commercial vehicle and $75 per motorcoach/bus • Photos with Santa: $5 per photo (no personal cameras) • Marshmallow Roasting: $1 per stick, $1 per four marshmallows (no personal supplies) • Train Ride: $1 per person • Kid's Craft Projects: $1 per craft • Cash only for every activity • No pets are allowed; service animals only. At Your Disposal With Loose Leaf Pickup Containerize for Weekly Pickup The City of Fayetteville provides a great service with loose leaf collection during the fall/winter part of the year. You do not have to wait for leaf pickup! If you put your leaves out in sturdy bags or containers on your regular yard debris day, they will be picked up weekly. This also helps keep leaves out of the stormdrains. Bad weather may cause delays. Instructions • Rake your leaves and pine straw curbside by day prior to your first scheduled day of pickup • Leaves and pine straw only - no tree limbs • Place leaves and pine straw on the top of the curb away from storm drains and out of the road.
