Admission Admission to the MA program is competitive and open to qualified applicants who hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Applicants are recommended (not required) to take the GRE General Test. Admission is based on interest in the master's degree offering, undergraduate transcript, two letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and potential for success. The Curriculum The MA in Psychology is a 36-credit program consisting of 21 credit hours of advanced-level foundation courses in psychology and 15 credit hours of electives that focus on a specific area in psychology. The educational goals are: ■ Knowledge of theoretical and applied areas in psychology ■ Development of conceptual and analytical skills ■ Knowledge of interpersonal dynamics Required Foundation Courses (21 credits) ■ Developmental Psychology ■ Neuropsychology ■ Research Design and Statistics I ■ Research Design and Statistics II ■ Social Psychology ■ Cognitive Psychology ■ Personality Theories ■ Professional Seminar* *Only for matriculated students in the MA program. Track 2: Global Psychology Research Students focus on application of research skills to international/ global settings, including non-governmental organizations, the United Nations, and other settings that focus on international and cross-cultural research. This track benefits students who wish to work in international organizations or pursue a PhD in international, global, and cross-cultural psychology. Track 3: Industrial and Organizational Psychology Research Students gain a comprehensive view of industrial and organizational psychology, and acquire knowledge associated with the effective management of individuals and groups. This track benefits students who wish to pursue a PhD in industrial and organizational psychology, or to work in corporate environments.
