A Curriculum that Develops the Skills Needed to Succeed At the heart of our 36-credit program is a core curriculum designed to provide you with a comprehensive, fully integrated overview of the industry—books, magazines, print, and digital. Courses are taught by industry professionals in book and magazine publishing, and provide the latest skills and information necessary for today's jobs. Learn about current trends and technology, as well as the time-tested skills critical to success in any publishing house department—from concept through layout and design, budgeting, production, marketing, sales, distribution and more. Digital media strategies are an integral part of the curriculum, with courses on eBooks, digital audience development, metadata, apps, and other digital products. " My advice to students is, take advantage of your classes, professors, guest speakers, classmates, and networking events. The Publishing program will help you stand out among a sea of job candidates. Through internships, networking, and professional references, you will land the job. Your classes will give you the knowledge, but your interactions with others will give you the edge—so network, network, network." Allegra Green '11 Associate Marketing Manager Macmillan Children's Publishing Group Flexible Learning Outcomes You may enroll full-time or part-time to complete the program.
