www.kufiji.org W e kicked things off this fall by moving in the new member class of 2023, reaching our maximum capacity of 37. From day one, these young men have shown great energy and promise toward the values of FIJI. Undergraduate Brothers have certainly enjoyed getting to know them, and we hope to better their experience here at the University of Kansas. Setting New Academic Goals As a Chapter, we share a common goal to improve our GPA each year. Last spring, we achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.23. While this was a success for us, we are striving to have constant improvement when it comes to academics. Scholarship Chairmen Ben Brown '22 and Adam Ziegler '22 have shown substantial initiative in generating different strategies and approaches to meet our goal of attaining a cumulative GPA of 3.3. BUILDING COURAGEOUS LEADERS Pi Deuteron Welcomes 37 New Members, Holds Cabinet Elections The password to protected areas of www.kufiji.org is "morgan". Chapter Packages over 10,000 Meals for Those in Need We started philanthropic efforts this fall by hosting a meal packing event with Rise Against Hunger with our Rock Chalk Revue partners, Sigma Kappa. In the span of a few hours, we were able to package 10,152 meals, enough to feed 50 people for a year! In addition to this event, we are looking forward to our annual FIJI Run partnering with Chi Deuteron at K-State to raise money for the USO. Looking to the spring semester, we decided to hold FIJI Islander later in the school year in an effort to raise attendance and increase the size of the event. Cabinet Elections I entered the position of interim President when our former President, Seth Wingerter '20, stepped down due to his duties as Vice President of the Student Senate. While I will only be serving for a short period, I am very happy with the efforts we have made so far. Our new cabinet was elected on October 21st, and the men currently holding positions have stepped up to become leaders. It goes without saying that Pi Deuteron is headed in a great direction. We have some extremely talented individuals who are beyond excited to step up and become the next leaders at FIJI. It's a great time to be a FIJI, and I look forward to what the future brings. Please feel free to stop by and visit the Chapter House if you find yourself on campus. Fraternally, Samuel Stapp '21, Chapter President (816) 489-6095 / kufijipresident@gmail.com Perge! 3
