ALUMNI UPDATE CHAPTER GRAND Arthur L. Lindbloom III '58 entered Chapter Grand on January 22, 2019, at home with his family by his side. He served in the U.S. military, naval branch as a navigator for P-3s, and retired a commander. Arthur married Mary Jane "Penny" Erbst in 1963. They had three kids: Michael, Stephanie, and Robert. In 1970, they moved from the Bay Area to Beaverton, Ore., where they settled to raise their children. Arthur was an accountant for most of his life, but his greatest role was being a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Penny; three kids; sister, Jan Lindbloom; and seven grandchildren. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. ALUMNI NEWS Tom Olcott '53 reports that his wife, Barbara, passed away in November 2017. After 64 years of marriage, he's managing, but life can be a little lonely at 87 years of age. Tom has a son in West Virginia and daughters in Minnesota, Texas, and New Zealand. Email: olcottfaync@aol.com Charlie Corbin '57 and his wife, Sandy, are enjoying retirement in a little village called Holly Lake Ranch in East Texas. They're blessed with good health and occasionally visited by their kids. Charlie is enjoying golf there—the course is in their backyard. Unfortunately, their great-grandchildren are roughly 1,200 miles north in Duluth, Minn. Charlie and Sandy sold their plane a couple of years ago, but they have a flying car kit, a Samson Switchblade, on order and they're hoping for an early delivery. Charlie writes, "Best regards to all our old friends and Phi Delt brothers." Bruce has served on many public and not-for-profit boards in retirement. He lives seasonally in Sycamore, Ill., and La Quinta, Calif. Mark just published his third book, Rock and Roll Voodoo. Email: tcgholco@aol.com Steven Cavell '74 retired from Altria Group in February 2019. His wife and fellow DePauw graduate, Leslie, also retired in February after working as a merchandising manager for The Hubert Company. Steve and Leslie have two daughters and three grandchildren. Steve and Leslie are in the process of moving from Cincinnati, Ohio, to St. Augustine, Fla. Email: stevecavell9@gmail.com Dane James '83 writes, "Three very quick years ago, I had the pleasure of pinning my son, Parker '19,.at his Indiana Zeta initiation. In the blink of an eye, he is graduating from DePauw as a proud brother! As an alumnus and father, I couldn't be more proud of him." William Martinov Jr. '86 was named director of athletics at Long Island University in its first year of competition as a unified Division I athletic program. Bill is a higher education professional with over 30 years of experience, has provided invaluable leadership at LIU during the past three years in alumni and employer relations and two of LIU's regional campuses. He has also assisted with athletic fundraising. Previously, Bill served as chief of student affairs, executive director of institutional advancement, and director of athletics at both public and private universities. He was on staff for 10 major bowl games and the Irish's 1988 football national championship title. During that time, Bill started a lifelong friendship with Rudy Ruttiger, whom the movie Rudy is based on.
