3 I t's been an exciting year at 832 South Kimbrough Avenue! Our members continue to be a distinct part of the community and have dedicated themselves to academics and brotherhood. WORKING TOWARD TOP 5 Eta Kappa had a strong spring semester. We improved our GPA to a 3.07, which was the sixth best overall GPA throughout FSL at Missouri State University. At the beginning of the year, we rested at roughly 30 members, and with the new fall 2019 class we have a wonderful group of 62 men, doubling our membership over the year. GIVING BACK WITH A FULL HEART In the past year, we hosted several philanthropic events throughout the community. Our chapter began a partnership with the Bear Pantry on campus. e Bear Pantry provides food to students who are food insecure or unable to afford food otherwise. rough our three-day food drive, we collected over 4,000 items for the Bear Pantry and just over $100 in donations. We received the Student Organization Spotlight Award for our work with the Bear Pantry and were featured in the school newspaper. Derby Days was another success for our chapter this past year. rough our digital events, we raised over $2,000 for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. COMMUNITY AND BROTHERHOOD Eta Kappa continues to focus on community service this year. In past semester we have struggled to average six community service hours per member. Last semester, we were able to average over 14 hours of community service per member. We began an initiative to have biweekly community service opportunities as well as focused on serving at the Convoy of Hope every Tuesday. ETA KAPPA REMAINS RESILIENT As changes are happening all around us in the Greek world, Eta Kappa feels a great responsibility to the community, our collegiate institute, our neighbors near 832 Kimbrough Avenue, and current as well as future members. By following the core values of friendship, justice, and learning, the chapter helps mold fine young men into better citizens, scholars, and leaders to benefit themselves and others during their time here at Missouri State and aer.
