T
hese are exciting times for Sigma Chi at Missouri
State. Our active chapter continues to prosper
since Eta Kappa's return to Missouri State in 2014.
With a renewed emphasis on academic achievement
and recruitment efforts that generate members who are
committed to the principles that guide our fraternity,
Sigma Chi is making its way back to the top of the ever-
expanding number of fraternities at Missouri State.
New Alumni Communication Program
We are excited to launch our new alumni
communications program to keep you informed of
everything Eta Kappa. Our goal is to produce a newsletter
each semester that highlights the chapter's success and
recognizes various alumni. In connection with this
process, we have sent out biographical updates to all Eta
Kappa alumni. Please send these back to us so we can
update your contact information.
Our house corporation celebrated its 50th year of
operation in June of this year. Over the years, the house
corporation has managed property rentals and ownership
of five chapter residences, including construction of
a new chapter house in the early 1990s. For the third
consecutive year, the Sigma Chi House Corporation of
Springfield, Mo., has been awarded the Outstanding
House Corporation award for demonstrating excellence
in best management practices.
If you haven't been to Missouri State in a while, you will
be surprised to see all the student housing and retail
development that has been completed or is in progress
directly adjacent to our chapter house.

T
he Eta Kappa Education Fund is a nonprofit
organization established in 2016 exclusively for
charitable, scientific, and educational purposes.
is includes providing scholarships to Eta Kappa
members, assisting the chapter with educational
endeavors, providing loans or grants to those entities
that would help the chapter grow, and funding any
portion of the construction or contents of the house
that directly relate to educational enhancement (study
room, computers, internet access, etc.). To date, we
have granted two $2,500 scholarships in both 2018 and
2019; created newsletters and an Eta Kappa website
for chapter communications; sponsored an upcoming
leadership retreat for November 15; publicized events like
Homecoming, reunions, and retreats; and undertaken
a search for chapter composites that have been lost or
destroyed over the past 45 years.
Donations to support our
mission may be mailed to
